[Bug 148701] Re: Search function in File browser does not function
I haven't upgraded to hardy yet (cause of some stories on forums), and I can confirm this bug still occurs on 7.10 with all the updates. I believe it can be patched for 7.10, as it is my favorite distro. The only think that I (and many other users) want is for the search button in a folder to work as if the user went to Places-Search for files-browse to folder I don't know about indexing and stuff, but searching one way works fine, while the other way doesn't work at all. Just make them work the same (in the good way) Thanks, and still waiting for a patch (I don't want to re-compile anything) -- Search function in File browser does not function https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/148701 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 237130] Re: Swahili support broken
It seems that the language-pack-sw* packages (in Hardy at least) simply do not contain Swahili locale data. The file /var/lib/locales/supported.d/sw is an empty file (zero bytes long), unlike all the other files in that directory. So, the locales package and the locale-gen program can't compile a Swahili locale. And by design, you can't persuade gdm to let you select a locale you don't have on your system, so the menus don't include it as a language choice. It might be worth mailing [EMAIL PROTECTED] to see if the language pack maintenance team as a whole has any advice or suggestions? Perhaps the folks you are sending out with a Ubuntu machine can actually help create the missing locale data themselves, and contribute it back to Ubuntu! [Bug 246097] [NEW] Kodak program chokes on files created by gThumb
You have been subscribed to a public bug: My daughter had trouble when she tried to use Kodak EasyShare software, version 4.0.4.177 to acquire pictures which I believe I created using gThumb. I am reporting this to you as I imagine it is important to authors of gThumb to interoperate with Kodak software. I have no trouble making use of this site here. Problem solved by putting unprocessed camera files in separate directory and having her download one at a time. For example http://katieandjames.us/biggrad/100_0875.JPG The webpage her Kodak software choked on is at http://www.katieandjames.us/graduation/ I created the web page, believe I used gThumb to do it. gThumb version 2.7.9 operations on original camera files were: * reduced pix to 1024 X 768 * created web album page * used gFTP 2.0.18 to move page to web at http://katieandjames.us/graduation/ Daughter's intent is to use Kodak Easyshare software to send pictures to Kodak and have prints made. Neither she nor I is a power user, and we cannot answer complex questions or run complex tests. However, I will be happy to try simple things for you, run simple tests, etc. She may also be willing to help out with verification of simple stuff. Follow on report: July 7 - downloaded Kodak Easyshare software (40MB+) and tried to reproduce daughter's problem. That's a different problem, if it's the first line that's working for you. [Bug 89660] i need your urgent assistance
Hello How are you doing today? Fine I presume. My reason for writing you a emergency letter is that I am currently traveling in Africa, to visit my ill Sister, am sorry for not informing you before embarking on my journey to Africa, because the news of her illness arrived to me as EMERGENCY she is suffering from a critical uterine Fibroid and needs family support to keep her going, her condition is deteriorating and the doctor told me that she will under-go a surgery to keep her alive because her fibroid has gotten worse(70pounds Large) and has done a lot of damages to her abdominal area. They will require a deposit of $2500 because they are inviting professional surgeons from Israel to perform the(hysterectomy) operation because it had gotten way-out of hand for them to handle. That brings me more to why I have written you, I need a financial help of ($2500) from you to deposit for her surgery, and I am traveling with little cash because I didn't expect things to be the way it is right now. I really need this money from you soon because I am in a terrible and tight situation here, I have 48hrs to get the money before the surgeons arrive. Even if you can't afford the whole sum, I will appreciate whatever you are able to come up with, because I don't even know your financial status before asking you for money. I promise to pay you back when I return. I am desperately waiting to read from you soon so that I will know my faith and the next step to take. [Bug 176547] Re: show actions menu tooltip is confusing
Hello Pedro and Joachim, I am also very confused as to what this checkbox is INTENDED to do. Some guesses as to the intended meaning might be: 1. Instead of 'Show actions menu' it should read 'Hide actions menu' - but I doubt it because of the other related checkbox. 2. In the tooltip of the checkbox When this is off should read When this is checked 3. In the tooltip of the checkbox one of the actions should read shutdown and restart actions 4. In the tooltip of the checkbox available anywhere really means during the gdm login screen and during the Log Out screen. Maybe those should be specified directly. So instead of what it reads currently perhaps it should read When this checked restart and shutdown actions will be available from the login and logout screens. A separate issue has to do with the checkbox functionality, but that belongs in a different bug report. ** Changed in: gdm (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Confirmed -- show actions menu tooltip is confusing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/176547 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 250000] Re: gnome-terminal not started as an interactive shell
Ah. But konsole (in KDE) *does* have the contents of .bash_profile successfully picked up. So either gnome-terminal is not picking up the environment variables set at login, or gnome isn't sourcing .bash_profile at login. The .bashrc is ubuntu is complicated and (at least was) partially buggy.
