[Bug 413360] [NEW] Pango text select with double click stops at underscore.

I'm not 100% sure this is a pango problem, but I think it is at the
heart of it.

Using gedit, if a variable has an underscore, a double click to select
that variable stops at the underscore. E.g.

int foo_bar;

If you double click in foo, only foo is selected. It would be most
helpful if the whole variable was selected, as it is with other text
editors I've used.

To use the underscore for variable names is pretty common, and I think
much nicer than humpy text (FooBar).

Im facing a a minor problem in the Totem / GStreamer player:

It seams to be unable to read .idx subtitle files. A bit strange, since

This bug is similar to the #159678 which concerns .smi files.

[Bug 388303] Re: Eye of Gnome should have Image Collection enabled by default

2009-08-17 Thread rugby471
I think the bets way to go forward is to by default have the
'Collection' button in the toolbar, this way it is very easy to
activate.

The reason I say this is because at the moment, eog is used as a quick
image viewer. For this purpose it does not need the collection pane as
eog is typically used for viewing one image, and then closed.

Any comments? If not then I shall make the debdiff

[Bug 387385] [NEW] CD/DVD Creator Window Does Not Show in Window List

2009-08-17 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Current behaviour:

- Applications-Accessories-CD/DVD Creator
- Add files to CD/DVD Creator File Browser Window
- Press Write to Disc
- Disc Burning Setup Window appears
- Disc Burning Setup Window is not show in Window List, nor it becomes
focuse/goes to top when focusing on CD/DVD Creator File Browser Window

This leads to problems, since:

- Disc Burning Setup Window is a long running process, and when it
goes into background, it is difficult to retrieve it

Expected behaviour:

- the Disc Burning Setup Window should appear on the Window List on the
bottom (very important)
- when the CD/DVD Creator - File Browser gains focus, the Disc Burning Setup
Window should also moved on top

1) Open up gnome-mouse-properties

[Bug 405908] Re: nautilus freezes while browsing video folder, reproducible

2009-08-17 Thread anagor
comment 9 is my apport-collect for nautilus, and I think I'm experiencing the
same bug with a little twist.
In my case opening a video file larger than 1GB (it was a few divx files in
this case) with any video application (tested with totem, vlc, mplayer) through
nautilus will cause nautilus to consume exactly 1GB of memory and then to get
stuck with 100% cpu. but nautlius doesn't crash, it just don't response and
consumes all the cpu.
As A.Walton suggested in comment 8, I've tried to turn off preview for files,
and in this case turning off preview for Other previewable files will remedy
the problem, i.e. large video files can be opened from nautilus and all works
well and nautilus doesn't consume memory or cpu. So his assumption about mime
sniffing might be correct.

[Bug 413553] Re: Cannot write offline journal for folder 'INBOX': Success

2009-08-17 Thread seakayone
The GNOME bugreport is mentionind Evolution version 2.24 and is quite
old.

Anyway, my problem existed for only one of my two IMAP accounts I am
using in evolution. After evolution --force-shutdown, deleting all the
mails in .evolution/mail/imap/AFFECTED_ACCOUNT and restarting
evolution again the problem seems to have vanished.

I still do not know what has caused the issue. Eventually I will find
out how to reproduce this.

[Bug 414737] [NEW] Insists on printing to US paper size instead of A4, despite repeated setting to A4, looks to also involve Evince

2009-08-17 Thread Mark Trickett
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Repeatedly set paper to A4, but when printing to a HP Laserjet 4+ with
PostScript card, insists on requiring US Letter paper. I have tried to
set a consistent A4 paper across the whole system, but still appears to
not take across the whole system. This problem seems to also involve
Evince, which is invoked for the printing. The printing works when I
print to the HP Laserjet 4P instead, which does not have PostScript. I
am currently running Ubuntu 8.04.3 LTS, nominally up to date as of 17th
August 2009. The following details the versions of Evolution and Evince.
I more suspect Evolution, and the PostScript output.

[Bug 414746] [NEW] Headphones not activated regression (karmic)

2009-08-17 Thread morryis
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-media

Until Jaunty my headphones were activated automatically and speakers
muted when I plugged the headphones. Since Karmic, the headphone output
is not activated automatically. There is no way to activate the
headphones manually by the 'Sound Preferences' gui, i.e. 'gnome-volume-
manager' or 'pavucontrol'. When I change 'Connector' from 'Sound
Preferences - Output' from 'Analog Output' to 'Analog Headphones' the
speakers are muted, but the headphones do not work. The only possibility
to activate the headphones properly is by activating the 'Headphone'
switch in 'gnome-alsamixer' (anyway this leaves the speakers unmuted).

[Bug 414762] [NEW] Doubleclicking randomly shows wrong directory

Public bug reported:

This bug occurs randomly but often when browsing files and directories
in List View.

Double-clicking a directory opens other directory than which was clicked
(opening here means
showing its subdirectories in list view, not changing to that directory). It
seems that usually
the directory that opens is in top of the list while selecting something from
bottom of the list,
never the directory below the one that was clicked.

This happens on 2 Jaunty PC's. Both are not state of the art (1.8Ghz pc and
1.4Ghz laptop) and
i believe more often when browsing remote shares.

The bug is probably a duplicate as it happens so often and is a bit
difficult to describe sorry for that.

[Bug 412738] Re: Can't record a second sound clip

2009-08-17 Thread Anthony Batchelor
Not easily. I can't upgrade that system until Karmic is out, and the
processor unfortunately doesn't have virtualisation extensions. I can
run a VM on a different machine and try from there.

I forgot to mention, that the recording was done from an external sound
card (M-audio fast track - USB), if that makes a difference.

Can you check under Jaunty to see if you can reproduce the problem?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include
enough information. You may find it helpful to read How to report bugs
effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be
grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.
We have instructions on debugging some types of problems.
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures
At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!
