The program 'f-spot' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)'.
  (Details: serial 6642 error_code 1 request_code 156 minor_code 19)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Program crashes after clicking on import or trying to open an image
already in f-spot. Had only started using f-spot yesterday, imported and
exported pictures. Soon as I try to use the f-spot today, it crashes as
soon as I try to do anything.

2010-05-04 Thread Tim
Yeh still not working for me either (although the seg fault did get
fixed).

I have tested on my laptop (clean lucid install) and it works fine.
I also tested with lucid beta live CD and its works.

So I suspect its an upgrade issue, tho have tried doing complete removal
and re-install of all rhythmbox and iphone packages and that did not help.

[Bug 574978] [NEW] Icons in gnome-panel are overlapping or displayed twice

2010-05-04 Thread Broco
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

The icons (e.g. Network-Manager-Applet, Bluetooth-Applet etc.) in the upper
gnome-panel are overlapping or displayed twice sometimes I log in.
The duplicated icons can not be clicked so I think of this as a bug just in
appearance.
This bug appeared using Ubuntu 10.04 but I remember having this problem
sometimes in 9.10, too.
killall gnome-panel makes the panel reload and then everything is fine then
but this is a little bit annoying and I could imagine that most people don't
know how to fix this.
I found out that I am not the only one with this problem due to posts in some

However, this means it's not an evince bug; but a fuse bug.
It's not evince bug in your case, but in my case evice can't create file,
because it needs to create parent directory ~/.gnome2/evince first, which
doesn't exist. It seems more like packaging bug to me, or even bug in evince

[Bug 374703] Re: evolution email program does not retain password

2010-05-04 Thread Vermind
I have this issue on Lucid, and have had it for as long as I have used
evolution.
It seems to me that this is not caused by evolution forgetting the password,
but rather by the occasional inability to reach the email server. If you
connect to the server every 10 minutes for a day or two, sometimes the
connection fails. In this case, evolution should know that the disconnect was
not caused by failed authentication, but by failed network connection. I
believe evolution assumes the password was wrong and asks it again.

Furthermore, if you click cancel to this unnecessary password prompt,
evolution does forget the password; it will ask the password next time
you try to manually connect to the email box. A more correct behaviour
in my opinion would be to interpret the cancel as the user aborting the
connection attempt, not removing the saved password.

[Bug 574078] Re: The function of Users and Groups can not be accessed.

2010-05-04 Thread Milan Bouchet-Valat
So if you have enough RAM, that error message is wrong.

The errors you posted above seem to indicate that the package
'libnet-dbus-perl' is missing, while it should have been installed as a
dependency of system-tools-backends. Please run
sudo apt-get install --reinstall libnet-dbus-perl
and see if that fixes the problem.

[Bug 573883] Re: evolution does not display google calendar and hangs when deleting the calendar

2010-05-04 Thread sanktnelson
I have now given up on using evolutions native caldev and google
interfaces. gcaldaemon works great as a workaround and comes with
evolution-specific setup instructions:
http://gcaldaemon.sourceforge.net/usage16.html

The instructions seem a bit complicated at first, but for me it ended up
taking a lot less time than trying to get evolution to work natively.

[Bug 403135] Re: Notification area icon wrongly rendered/uses bg_color as a background (multiple apps)

2010-05-04 Thread betabandido
I am using Ubuntu 10.04. In my case everything works fine except spotify
(wine) and skype.

For spotify the background of the icon is wrong (light grey instead of dark
grey).
For skype the icon looks good, but if I click on the icon, the characters in
the menu cannot be read (except for the highlighted entry).

Both spotify and skype were working correctly in Ubuntu 9.10 for me.

I am attaching an screenshot.

Thanks!

[Bug 323335] Re: Evolution fails to display HTML email formatted

2010-05-04 Thread Nick Davies
I'm having a similar problem to Dejan, although I'm not sure it's
related to the original problem reported here - my issue seems to be
related to special characters in the HTML.

To reproduce, save the attached HTML file, compose a new message add the
saved file via insert - HTML File. The attached HTML has a special
character (0xA0) followed by the work Hello, but what appears in the
message is [?]

I'm using Lucid x86_64 with evolution 2.28.3-0ubuntu9 and evolution-
mapi.

[Bug 519583] Re: can't add, move, unlock applets no clock

2010-05-04 Thread StephanBeal
This _might_ be a similar/related bug: starting this morning, my Gnome
Panel clock is stuck at a specific time. If i remove the clock (or kill
its process), the image of the clock stays on the panel but it no longer
reacts like a clock (e.g. right-clicking brings up the panel menu, not
the clock menu). Re-adding it doesn't solve the problem - it's still
stuck at 11:28.

The system clock is not affect: date shows the proper time. See
attached screenshot.

Using Ubuntu 10.4 clean install (except for my home dir, which was been
around at least 4 years) on x86.

i suspect that comvpiz has something to do with it, but that's mere
speculation based on similar problems i've had in the past when using
compvis.

[3 minutes later...] As a matter of fact... disabling desktop effects
(setting them to None via System-Prefs-Appearance) fixed the problem.

No - it's NOT 100% of the maximum output, but it's 100% of your current

setting will then set it to this volume. If you want it lower then
change the 100 in the above command line to the percent you want.

[Bug 575044] [NEW] nautilus does not start after login

2010-05-04 Thread Dominik Menke
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx
nautilus 1:2.30.0-0ubuntu4
compiz: 1:0.8.4-0ubuntu15
emerald: 0.7.2-0ubuntu4
nvidia-current: 195.36.15-0ubuntu2 (on 9300M chipset)

On my current setup (compiz activated, using emerald as window
decorator), nautilis won't start after login. The desktop icons are
displayed neither. A manual run in a terminal gives this result:

 $ nautilus
 Initializing nautilus-gdu extension
 Initializing nautilus-open-terminal extension

If I disable emerald and compiz, the icons won't show up, too.

Another interesting feature is the behaviour on opening
places/favourites:

Speicherort »file:///home/dmke/repositories« konnte nicht angezeigt werden
Es wurde keine Anwendung gefunden, die diese Datei verarbeiten kann

(I don't know the exact translation, but obviously there is no url
handler for »file://«...)

[Bug 574510] Re: gnome-terminal crashes or won't spawn new windows or tabs

2010-05-04 Thread Chris Coulson
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these
instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can
be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus
and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report
you wish to submit.
If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using
/usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a
terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

@Chris Coulson:
I did not upgrade Ubuntu, it was a complete reinstall. But I have copied some

was copied, too).

In a guest session no icons are shown (because there are no files
located in .../Desktop), but the window border is drawn.

Ok. let me know if you have some intermediate debug version I could test and
see if the issue is fixed. Would love to test that here.
Thanks

[Bug 460375] Re: Display goes black after 10 minutes idle despite never settings

2010-05-04 Thread Chris Coulson
The comments here suggest this isn't a gnome-screensaver or gnome-power-
manager issue (it's happening without X too). This would also happen if
people disable gnome-screensaver in Startup Applications, as the X
screensaver will take effect when gnome-screensaver isn't running

** Package changed: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) = ubuntu

** Project changed: gnome-power = null

[Bug 575087] [NEW] Iconizing the Emptying Trash Window makes it disappear

2010-05-04 Thread Arne Caspari
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

I just emptied a Trash with a large number of files and iconized the
preparing to empty the trash ( or similar ) dialog. The window
completely vanishes and there is no tab in the window list for it to
bring it back.

The gvfsd-trash process does continue to run causing high CPU and IO
load ( probably still collecting data about the to-be-removed items to
display a process bar on a hidden window ;-) )

[Bug 442795] Re: Login Screen Settings menu does not unlock

2010-05-04 Thread 32B
if gdmsetup isn't supposed to be functional when gdm is not running
perhaps a check could be made at launch and a message to that effect
given rather than operating with incomplete and incomprehensible
functionality?

[Bug 265043] Re: Evolution doesn't refresh the INBOX folder

2010-05-04 Thread corax
I still have this issue. Now with Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx. Some emails are
shown in the inbox others aren't. Most of them have the Could not find
message body in FETCH response.-error. I read somewhere on the internet, that
this was a symptom of a bug in Evolution, concerning the use of FETCH UID -
which is not used proberly. I really hope that you guys can help with this
issue or at least temporarily a 'workaround'. None of the above mentioned
action are working. (They did work for me, when I was using 8.04 Hardy Heron
a simple refresh and the messages got fetch'ed).
Good luck :-)
