This problem has re-emerged after last two updates in Maverick 10:10. Right-clicking on properties in Nautilus does not show Open With option. Ok, problem solved, a wee bit more complicated than the previous solution: 1. Open Home folder 2. Right click on problem folder 3 Choose Open With 4. Choose Other Application... 5. Reproduce this issue on nautilus-2.32.0. When we dragdrop an folder with many files(such as 3 files) before its file count be read out, nautilus will crash. It's more complicated than that; as I remember (from a couple of years ago when I posted the patch in #6 above) there are limitations in the 'strut' notification where a window tells the window manager to avoid an area; it can't really cope with an arbitrary area in the middle of the screen. So really it's a standardisation issue that the wm and panel need to understand; although heck knows if any of that has changed in the last couple of years. Hello Andre I have solved the problem by restarting the computer. Another user alerted me to the fact that the networking applet Wicd can give unreliable information, and that Evolution can ¨think¨ the computer is offline when in fact it is connected to the internet. I have been having trouble setting up a wireless pci card, and at the moment, whilst the pci card is recognized, I am still connected by cables.
