[Bug 554963] Re: Nautilus gives Could not display computer:///. error when unmounting a volume for the first time for that login

2011-05-09 Thread raymulder
have 11.04 installed from the release iso and this bug is still there.
It happens with me when I unmount a DVD disk.
The problem seems to be Nautilus which cannot find a new directory to open
after you have unmounted the disk.
This does not happen to a USB device or maybe it is only the first time you
remove a drive from the computer.
Will try some more permutations.

[Bug 780106] [NEW] Unlock dialog comes up twice

2011-05-09 Thread Justin Force
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

More often than not (which is to say, not every time), after entering my
password to unlock my desktop, the screensaver immediately reactivates
and I have to enter my password a second time.

Apparently, this bug was fixed in Maverick:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-
screensaver/+bug/556255/comments/58

But I am running gnome-screensaver 2.30.2-0ubuntu2, which is newer than
the fixed version 2.30.0-1ubuntu1.1, and this still occurs several times
a day. I mentioned that this was still occurring in the original bug,
but I think it is probably actually a different bug since it's been
reintroduced between releases.

[Bug 780117] [NEW] Brasero finishes without error but unusable media [no simulation mode] (Ubuntu 11.04)

2011-05-09 Thread Florian Sievers
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: brasero

When I burn a DVD (4,7 and 8,5 GB) Brasero show the progressbar till
about 30-40% (exact point is randomly) and than says, that it is
finalizing the media. This finalizing messages is showing for the rest
of the burning process (~10min @8x 8,5GB). After that, it ejects the
media without any error. But when I insert the media again, nothing
happens, except, that the DVD-Drive disappears from the computer:///
location in nautilus.

This problem only exists when burning On-The-Fly. Burning ISO Images or
automatic creation of ISO Images before burning works without problems.
The burning speed doesn't matter to this problem. I test 8x, 4x and 2x.
All the same problem. On-The-Fly burning using K3B works quite well @8x
speed.

One thing I also notice is, that Brasero uses 100% CPU on one core,
while K3B uses just about 5-15%.

I attached the last Brasero log. I don't know, why it just says, that it
was only at 49% and then says it's finished. The burning took about 28
minutes. The media was unusable on all my three devices (Linux/Windows).

[Bug 498208] Re: Ubuntu hibernates directly after resume

2011-05-09 Thread siraj k
I have the same issue -- it first seemed to appear with 10.04, and I've
waited a couple of releases to see if it goes away, but I'm now on 11.04
and it remains. I've tried installing uswsusp but that doesn't make a
difference. To restate the issue:

When the battery runs critically low and the system hibernates, then, on
resume (with the power plugged in, no matter what battery level) the
system immediately hibernates again. This happens 3-4 times before the
system is finally usable.

As suggested, I will try this with the live CD and report back on
whether the same issue exists in that situation.

Dell m1330
Intel Core 2 Duo T8300
Ubuntu 11.04
gnome-power-manager 2.32.0-2ubuntu2

Yeah, you're right. This is a pretty basic feature accessible from the
default desktop. It simply should not be broken for a final release, so
I don't think the importance should be Low.

[Bug 780169] [NEW] Lines in pdf file printed with wrong width

2011-05-09 Thread Devius
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

I generated a pdf file by creating a drawing with Bricscad and printing
the output with Cups-PDF. When I print this pdf file to the actual
printer with Evince some lines come out with the wrong width (too
thick). I'll attach the file tomorrow along with the actual and expected
results. This same file prints perfectly fine with Okular.

[Bug 779959] Re: evince fails on graph.ps file, display comes up and immediately disappears

2011-05-09 Thread chuck adams
After filing the bug report I have moved 200km from the original
computer.

I have another computer (this one that I am typing this in) and I checked the
attached
graph.ps from Marcel and it displays on this system correctly. I diffed
Marcel's graph.ps
with the one I generated and they are the same.

So the problem seems to be system dependent and I will recreate the issue on the
other system on Wednesday. They both are dual AMD processors and I have to
check
the graphics system to tell what the difference is. This is system is a lenovo
system
and the other is a system I put together from a different mobo, but it too is a
dual
AMD processor system. At least I think so. I have too many systems. :-)

Hang tight and I will add to the thread. Both are running 11.04 with updates,
so there
is no difference on the software. Same 2.32.0 version of evince.

thanks for your patience,

chuck

2011-05-09 Thread iMac
I think what Milan is saying, is the proper way to say me too is to
select Affects Me at the top of the bug, which will help to give
developers an accurate scope of impact _ though this one is pretty high
already. I posted upstream (freedesktop-bugs link at the top) where
IMHO the bug needs a new title and some more activity. I noted the last
dev comment was to look at turning on the time estimation code in
October 2009 .. I'm guessing that presented a challenge.
