[Bug 805658] Re: various redraw errors with gnome
Quite difficult. As soon as I move the mouse it may hover a window. This leads to a redraw of all windows, removing the artifacts from windows moved to the other screen. ;-) I'll try further. [Bug 692893] Re: keyboard preferences won't persist restart
Same problem in gnatty. I don't use gnome, but use a small WM and I use gnome-settings-daemon every time I start up for gtk-theming. The problem is, that this resets the keyboard layout to whatever gnome thinks is right, and no matter how many times I tell it to delete the USA keyboard layout for my user and only use dvorak, it doesn't stick and I have to change it manually on restart. Very unhelpful keyboard layout program in my mind. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/692893 Title: keyboard preferences won't persist restart To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm/+bug/692893/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 810498] [NEW] CPU Resource Monitor ignores CPUs when 1 CPU is hotplugged
Public bug reported: When Hotplugging a CPU Core (disableing it, see below), the CPU Resource Monitor shows all CPUs with a ID equal or greater than the ID of the hotplugged CPU with 0.0%, even though that is not the case. In my case: Im running a AMD X4 System with 4 Cores. I disable core 2 via 'echo 0 /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu2/online' (Hotplugging via the Method described here http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/debian-rhel-centos-redhat-suse-hotplug-cpu/) At the same time Im running a Thread that puts core 3 at full load. After disabling, the CPU Resource Monitor shows core 2 and core 3 at 0.0% even though core 3 is still running at close to 100%. After restarting the System Monitor it only shows cores 0 and 1. actually, this is not just a gdm bug, this is also a gnome-settings- daemon or gnome-applets bug because that's where the keyboard setting application is, on a per-user and per-system basis. [Bug 628293] Re: gnome-default-applications-properties does not set needs_term for mailer presets
We don't have the custom part anymore, so this is obsolete for oneiric. For maverick and/or natty, not sure this is SRU material, but if so, the patch seems to not be 100% correct. We already have a GConfPEditor for the needs-term key, so the patch should make that code set / get the setting correctly. Hi Pedro, Thanks for replaying. I forgot about this problem... sorry. I noticed the problem was also with other players, so I tried changing values on the system audio settings. summary expected behavior: if a user changes default keyboard layout in gnome-keyboard-properties when gnome-settings-daemon is running. [Bug 810549] [NEW] Battery indicator turns red when charged second battery is inserted
Public bug reported: This is on a Lenovo T410s, Natty, 64-bit. I have the second battery goes in the cd-rom drive slot. If the laptop is plugged in, and both batteries are charged, the battery indicator will turn red with the empty battery icon. Clicking on the icon will show 3 batteries waiting to charge. However, when I click on the waiting to charge text the Power Statistics menu shows everything correctly. Additionally, the time remaining only shows the time remaining of the current battery, not the total of both. If I only have one battery in everything seems to detect correctly. I'll attach screenshots. Thank you.
