2011-09-21 Thread DarkRedman
Apparrently that's a problem with gvfsd-trash.

To reproduce the bug, just simply empty the folder and you could
(perhaps) see the icon didn't changed, to fix the bug manually you could
kill all process of gvfsd-trash, kill nautilus to refresh the desktop
and then it's fixed. But doesn't work for the applet.

[Bug 854717] Re: Broken panel icons and dialog style during ubiquity-dm and OEM install/final user configuration

2011-09-21 Thread Martin Pitt
Adding g-s-d task, as at the end of the day g-s-d should not fail to set
the theme when being dbus activated through indicator-power.

Note that even if this works, ubiquity-dm then doesn't wait() for the
g-s-d instance that it spawns, so the zombie process stays around.
That's only a minor thing, though, it should not actually hurt.

[Bug 855404] [NEW] Lock screen after setting in Screen is ignored

2011-09-21 Thread Rachel Greenham
Public bug reported:

In the settings window, in the Screen preferences, there are very few
options, and even they don't seem to work. :-) One of them is the Lock
screen after option where you can select a delay before the screen is
locked and required a password to regain access.

I have this set to 1 hour.

But that setting is ignored. I haven't pinned down exactly how long it
actually waits for; it isn't immediately after screen turn off, but it's
only a few minutes longer, I think - and probably the default, whatever
that was.

[Bug 855437] [NEW] Text file previews appear outside the icons

2011-09-21 Thread Mostafa Razavi
Public bug reported:

I've just upgraded to Ubuntu 11.10 and I noticed the text file previews
shown in the thumbnails are broken. Instead of the part of the text that
fits inside the icon, the whole text is shown or at least some lines
break outside the thumbnail boundaries. The installed nautilus version
is 1:3.1.92-0ubuntu2. I've attached a screenshot which shows the
problem.

It seems in debian package creation[1] those utilities are built, but

Re: [Bug 855404] Re: Lock screen after setting in Screen is ignored

2011-09-21 Thread Rachel Greenham
The Turn off after option is set to 10 minutes. And the screen does
seem to turn off after that time, or as near that I've not noticed it
doing otherwise.

At some unmeasured time after that (but way, way less than an hour)
waking it again requires the password.

I see no dim screen option anywhere in System Settings. (My default
language for menus and windows, in Language Support, is English (United
Kingdom) followed by English...)

[Bug 855556] [NEW] Restart and Shut Down don't work if anyone else is logged in

2011-09-21 Thread Matthew Paul Thomas
Public bug reported:

gnome-session 3.1.91-0ubuntu2, lightdm 0.9.7-0ubuntu1, indicator-session
0.3.5.1-0ubuntu1, Ubuntu 11.10 beta

1. Start up the computer.
2. At the login screen, choose Restart, and confirm it.
3. Log in.
4. From the device menu, choose Restart, and confirm it.
5. Log in again.
6. Switch to a guest session.
7. Switch back to your user account.
8. From the device menu, choose Restart, and confirm it.
9. From the login screen, choose Restart, and confirm it.

What happens:
2. The computer restarts.
4. The computer restarts.
8. Ubuntu returns to the login screen.
9. Nothing at all.

What should happen:
2. The computer restarts.
4. The computer restarts.
8. The computer restarts.
9. The computer restarts.

The same problem happens with Shut Down. At a terminal, sudo reboot
and sudo shutdown work as expected.

See also bug 838792, where Restart logs out with no-one else logged in
(that bug does not occur for me). While testing this bug I also
triggered bug 740382.

[Bug 855170] Re: application close when type any word on the bar.

2011-09-21 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these
instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can
be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus
and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report
you wish to submit.
If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using
/usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a
terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

[Bug 855615] [NEW] menu bar appears even if disabled

I have the menubar disabled, via the options in my profile. When I run a
