sometimes requires multiple reboots. Although still not sure if this is related
to the bug mentioned here, or the one over here...

Am running an old Athlon with regular HDD, although nVidia chipset

look at that next.

Just thought I'd add that this IS still occuring on a Oneric environment

[Bug 909737] [NEW] Launching Nautilus doesn't set focus on the new window

2011-12-29 Thread Mezgrman
Public bug reported:

I have a shortcut to Nautilus in the launcher. When I click it (and do not
click anything else after that), Nautilus starts, but the focus is still on the
previously active window (in the most cases Chrome).
This is very annoying because I might accidently close Chrome instead of
Nautilus since the close button in the panel is the close button of Chrome.

[Bug 909799] [NEW] Evolution helpfully translates folder names when it shouldn't

2011-12-29 Thread Jan Claeys
Public bug reported:

When I select the 'Sent' folder in an (IMAP) account as the target for
sent mail, Evolution helpfully translates the 'Sent' to 'Verzonden'
(Dutch for 'Sent') after selecting it, but as there is no 'Verzonden'
folder, of course that subsequently results in Evolution not being able
to store sent files in that non-existent folder...

The same happens with e.g. the 'Drafts' folder.

Although it may be nice to have translated folders configured by
default, I think Evolution should not translate a _selected_ folder.

BTW: the reason I want/have to use the 'Sent' folder and not 'Verzonden'
is that I use those accounts with other mail clients and using software
in different languages.

[Bug 848340] Re: Brasero can't select DVD drive to burn image

2011-12-29 Thread photonmedia
As of today with all latest updates installed this is still an issue.
See attachments.

Nautilus recognizes the blank CD for me to drag files to it, but if I
right-click an ISO and choose Write to Disc the combo box where I
choose the disc to write to is empty. You can still choose the empty
space and click Burn and it works, but this is still a bug as it does
not show the disc therefore making it seem as if it will not allow you
to burn.

I have found a partial fix changing the cursor blinking behaviour.

With gconf-editor (or your prefered tool) look for /apps/gnome-

The cursor doesn't blink but also doesn't show the outline.

[Bug 909770] [NEW] libgtk2.0-common: /etc/gtk-2.0/im-multipress.conf reported as obsolete config

2011-12-29 Thread Martin-Éric Racine
Public bug reported:

$(dpkg-query -W -f='${Conffiles}\n' | grep obsolete | awk {'print $1'})
reports /etc/gtk-2.0/im-multipress.conf as an obsolete config. However,
its removal results in DPKG errors upon package removal. This suggests
packaging that installs the file in a way that is not compliant with
Debian Policy for configuration files management.

[Bug 740815]

2011-12-29 Thread Randall Leeds
Sorry to revive an old thread, but I wanted to voice my thoughts for
posterity. Right now the embedder's story is something like:

1) Look for js-config. If found, use it to find the sdkdir, then do feature
detection to figure out what JSAPI version it is.
2) Otherwise, look for libmozjs185
3) ... or for libmozjs
4) ... or for libjs

I'm glad to see that the mozilla-central repository has not taken the
versioning used here into the library name upstream. I encourage
everyone involved in releases not to worry about getting the JS language
version involved in the library naming at all. It may often be of much
less importance to an embedder whether the language changed slightly as
whether the embedding ABI changed, so please stick to ABI compatibility
when deciding version numbering for the library and keep one library
name. I suspect backward-incompatible language changes are less frequent
than ABI changes and much of the JS world is used to feature-testing for
language compatibility anyway due to the variety of language versions
and features supported by browsers. Furthermore, embedders who _do_ care
about the language version can look at the define in jsversion.h.
Changing library names just complicates things needlessly.

Thanks for all your hard work.

2011-12-29 Thread 1448412
Public bug reported:

I was moving mails in a rather large structure on a gmail account,
accesses using imap+. I was moving a subfolder.

I got a warning that the source could not be read. After that, the

I tried with 4 other folders that all got lost.

[Bug 740815]

2011-12-29 Thread Dmandelin
(In reply to Randall Leeds from comment #49)
Sorry to revive an old thread, but I wanted to voice my thoughts for
 posterity.

Thanks for the input. I don't think we're planning changing much right
now, but at some point I think we'll want to do a new source release and
it will be good to keep this in mind. I think the point about version
numbering going with ABI rather than language features makes sense.

[Bug 909808] Re: package libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-0 0.10.28-1 failed to install/upgrade: 套件 libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-0 已安裝並設定完成

2011-12-29 Thread Ubuntu Foundation's Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it
seems that a package failed to install due to a segmentation fault in
application being used by the package installation process.
Unfortunately, this bug report isn't very useful in its current state
and a crash report would be much more useful. Could you try recreating
this issue by enabling apport to catch the crash report 'sudo service
apport start force_start=1' and then trying to install the same package
again? This process will create a new bug report so I am marking this
one as Invalid. Thanks again for helping out!

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 909874] [NEW] eog causes X to crash

I can reproduce this relatively easily. I simply open eog and view a

Any news on this? Right now my my bluetooth name is

[Bug 888535] Re: rhythmbox crashed with SIGSEGV in rb_playlist_manager_get_playlists()

2011-12-29 Thread Krzysztof Klimonda
This seems to be fixed in upstream master by commit 8bc2fc3. It should
already be fixed in precise (but I don't have it installed to test) and
seems like a good candidate for an SRU (which would also fix bug
#894153).

[Bug 863154] Re: Wacom Bamboo One tablet random coordinate malfunctions

2011-12-29 Thread Douglas Griffin
@diggao

GENIUS MOUSEPAD 8x6 TABLET FIXED

Confirmed that sudo add-apt-repository ppa:aapo-
rantalainen/gimp26-noghostline patch worked with UBUNTU 11.10 and
Genius Mousepad 8x6.

Procedure:

1. Remove GIMP with Software Center
2. Open Terminal and type the following:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:aapo-rantalainen/gimp26-noghostline
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gimp

3. After installation, add back any other related extensions through Software
Center.
4. Load GIMP.
5. Configure Input Extensions under Preferences.
6. Disable all pointing devices except for the first tablet listing which you
set to SCREEN. (This activates the Pen. The second tablet listing is for the
Genius Mouse which you don't need.)
7. SAVE and CLOSE the Input Dialog Box.

Your done. It works. I'm happy again. Thank you Aapo Rantalainen for
your help solving a problem that has plagued so many of us. Also thanks
to Alexia Death for the initial lead.

[Bug 909964] [NEW] Image Viewer (eog) causes X to exit with ecrypt errors

2011-12-29 Thread tazr42
Public bug reported:

When opening photos which have recently been scanned in, the entire X
session occasionally exits and starts again on the login screen. This
will happen approximately once every three photos, but can vary greatly.

Using Gnome-Shell. Latest Ubuntu, updates all applied to 29 Dec 2011.

Each time this has been observed it is whilst opening an image with eye
of gnome. I've opened a few with GIMP but not seen the issue.

I dropped into tty1 and ran the command on DISPLAY :0.0 and managed to recreate
the issue. I believe it isn't that much use as the error seems to be just
complaining that X is missing:
me@island:~/Desktop/added scanned$ DISPLAY=:0.0 eog Kategarden1998.jpeg
me@island:~/Desktop/added scanned$ DISPLAY=:0.0 eog KatyGardenChair.jpeg

(eog:9181): Gdk-WARNING **: eog: Fatal IO error 2 (No such file or directory)
on X server
:0.0.

me@island:~/Desktop/added scanned$ DISPLAY=:0.0 eog KatyGardenChair.jpeg
me@island:~/Desktop/added scanned$

When it drops to another command prompt, that is when the image opens properly.
As you can see, the image which crashed it once, opened the next time leading
me to believe that although the image helps it crash, it isn't overly specific.
The image is 3MB and can be found attached.

This is what syslog says at the time of the crash:
Dec 30 02:15:13 island gnome-session[2098]: Gdk-WARNING: gnome-session: Fatal

[Bug 909799] Re: Evolution helpfully translates folder names when it shouldn't

2011-12-29 Thread Jan Claeys
BTW: bugs like the following show the same error messages I get, so they
*might* be the result of this bug too—or not—difficult to say:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/898413
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/834335
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/778543

Obviously those bug reports can be caused by something else too...

Maybe asking if they use a localised Evolution might be useful?

My Oneiric fresh install is also affected by this change. My enigmail

configured to ask for me a password to unlock my GPG key. Now, in
