K3b apparently closes the DVD even when start multisession was selected in the misc tab. Confirmed this by putting the DVD in a different machine and attempting to append with a different program. A little bit disappointing as multisession CD-RW worked OK (what's the difference between multisession on a DVD and a CD-RW?) I occasionally get this, though I'm at a loss to debug it. It seems like one in N (when N is a large enough number to let me get work done, but a small enough one to be annoying) seems to open with what appears to be some sort of flow control or buffering turned on. The result of this is that the initial terminal is blank, and if you get to typing commands and such, eventually the window will refresh and show you the results of said typing. Public bug reported: After adding a new contact, logging out and then logging in again, the new contact is gone. Maybe related to: After adding a new contact it appears in the contact list, but always as offline, and messages are sent nor received. And this maybe related to: New contact requests appear, are denied (because they are spam), and then after logging out and in, the same contact requests appear again. [Bug 1027518] [NEW] Evince doesn't display menus or documents correctly

I'm sure evince used to work fine (or maybe I was using acroread) but now when Itry to open PDF documents the display is absolutely useless. The menu texts are replaced by square blocks and the documents just show up as almost blank white pages (see attached screenshot and console log - it's much easier to show in a screenshot than it is to explain in words). Same issue, AMD e-350 and 12.04 Precise. This is a pretty new system and I thought that it may be a hardware issue. This confirms that it is a driver issue. MSI E350IA-E45 Motherboard The HDMI works fine for a while but randomly disappears. When the sound stops I can look in the sound settings and the HDMI option is gone. If I log out and log in again it will reappear and work fine for a while.
