[Bug 1033153] [NEW] brasero does not recognize CD-RW media

2012-08-05 Thread Mike_F
Public bug reported:

In Ubuntu 12.04 brasero does not recognize CD-RW media.
Tools - Blank shows 'No disc available'
Help - About reports version 3.4.1

Media is known 'good' Maxell High Speed disc, previously formatted and used.
Other apps (k3b and xfburn) recognize and format this media.

Also, brasero under current LMDE (Debian Wheezy) exhibits same symptom
(version not yet available).

[Bug 378861] Re: access errors when using tabs

2012-08-05 Thread Valentin Crone
(I'm french, sorry for eventual errors of English)
This bug affect my on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS amd 64 with nautilus 3.4.2.

When I use a FAT32 or NTFS partition in a tab, my folders are created in
other tab.

I would copy my Music on my Android Phone (SD), I select the files and I
can't click to Copy because nautilus consider I would to copy the
empty folder in other tab. (he consider no files selected in the empty
folder)

I have this bug for 2 - 3 months approximately, when I can select my
files for a copy they are moved or copied in the wrong tab !

The bug is random, to reproduce it, it's easy when you use Ubuntu (you
have frequetly this problem with FAT32 paritition), but you can try
several time to constat the bug.

Try with a SD Card or USB Key in FAT32 and you HDD in ext4 for example, open 3
or 4 tab and move form one to another.
Try to Open a file in a tab, an move this to n other tab.
If you can't see the bug, try again, I have the bug every time I use a FAT32
partition.

For a NTFS partition I don't know if the bug is present... I have not found the
bug with NTFS personnaly, only with FAT16/32, in only a Linux partition (ext4)
Nautilus don't have this bug.
Thanks you.

→ I have tested (when I write this message) to clic to proprities
(contextual menu) in the ext4 folder affected with the bug, I think
nautilus give the detail of the FAT32 folder (by logic) and not,
Nautilus crash, it's a chance because apport have been started and I
have send the bug report.

[Bug 1033219] [NEW] Main Gimp window looses focus every time an option is used

2012-08-05 Thread Pablo Piaggio
Public bug reported:

In order to use the Gimp menu, the main window has to be selected.

However, after running almost any option from the menu, the focus does
not return the main window but changes aleatory to one of the other
windows (either Toolbox or Layers).

Those windows do not have menus, so you neither can use Alt+ to get to
the menus nor take advantage of the HUD.

I could say that this happens with any option that launch a dialog
window. For instance:

Color - Hue-Saturation
Filter - Blur - Gaussian Blur
Etc.

This also happens when you switch to another workspace and come back.

I appreciate your time to review this bug.
Kind Regards.

[Bug 661494] Re: Request to limit xinit writes to .xsession-errors to some reasonable value, such as 10 megs

2012-08-05 Thread Derek
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 589275 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/589275

So, today had an experience w/ a runaway nx client that wrote 44 gigs to
~/.gnomerc-errors in a matter of minutes.

Presumably the uniq -c approach from the prior comment would have
prevented that, although I don't know if there's a handy wrapper layer
in between. I believe the client had a direct handle to the error file.

Just thought I'd mention in terms of sucking up disc space.

The name change is in 0.21 which is in Quantal now, and which I'll
backport to Precise in a second. Thanks for spotting it. I'm not sure
why I didn't — I can only assume that I just plain didn't install the
new version. My bad.

partial one because not all the updates can be installed. When I touched
close instead of partial update it said to type sudo apt-get install

able to install anything from the ubuntu store. Please help me because I
can't really do much right now, thank you

[Bug 1031439] Re: transcoding fails to start: NameError: global name 'Gst' is not defined

2012-08-05 Thread Iain Lane
The transmageddon SRU fix doesn't need tracking in its own bug; I'll
just reupload it.

** Description changed:

- All transcoding attempts fail the same -
+ = gst0.10-python =
+
+ [ Description ]
+
+ gst-python0.10 didn't expose preset_set_app_dir, which the SRUed
+ transmageddon (0.20-1ubuntu0.1) relied upon.
+
+ [ Proposed fix ]
+
+ Cherry-pick upstream patch to expose this. Upload transmageddon with
+ appropriate versioned dep.
+
+ [ Development release fix ]
+
+ Identical.
+
+ [ Regression potential ]
+
+ Applications could rely on the new exposed functions without an
+ appropriate versioned dep, leading to runtime failures.
+
+ [ Test plan ]
+
+ Launch `transmageddon' from a terminal. Attempt to transcode a video.
+ Note that an error referring to preset_set_app_dir appears before the
+ update, and transcoding does not proceed. After the update, note that
+ transcoding does proceed without this specific error.

[Bug 945987] Re: No Settings are available in Preferred format, only preset defaults are used

A new transmageddon is in the queue. It should go in no earlier than
gst0.10-python (bug #1031439). Preferably at the same time; the
versioned dep should keep everything in line.

[Bug 1033339] [NEW] gnome-panel generates a false open window

2012-08-05 Thread peterzay
Public bug reported:

Using gnome-session-fallback, when you launch Nautilus by clicking on
Places in the upper panel, a false extra window indicator is presented
on the bottom panel.

The name of this false window is the real name of the window you opened
prefixed by Opened.

See attached screenshot for example of launching Nautilus by clicking on
/Places/Videos and generating the false window indicator Opening
Videos.

This false window indicator persists for about 15 seconds before
disappearing.
