[Bug 1154813] Re: Boot broken with initramfs-tools 0.103ubuntu0.5b1

2013-03-14 Thread Martin Pitt
I went through
http://codesearch.debian.net/search?q=udev_monitor_receive_device and
checked other users of this, and they are all ok (they all call this
from a callback). So let's fix this in wait-for-root, and get rid of
this Ubuntu specific ABI change.

[Bug 1154813] Re: Boot broken with initramfs-tools 0.103ubuntu0.5b1 - wait-for-root doesn't wait

2013-03-14 Thread Martin Pitt
I uploaded a fix to raring-proposed:

initramfs-tools (0.103ubuntu0.7) raring; urgency=low

  * src/wait-for-root.c: Set udev monitor socket to blocking, as we want to
wait for events. (LP: #1154813)

 -- Martin Pitt martin.p...@ubuntu.com Thu, 14 Mar 2013 07:08:06
+0100

I close the bug as this only affects raring-proposed, not raring. Jean-
Louis, I'd be grateful if you could confirm that this works properly for
you now?

Thanks, and sorry for the hassle!

[Bug 1075923] Re: nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share

2013-03-14 Thread Bud
I also downloaded raring 13.04 beta hoping the problem would have been
addressed here, but it exhibits the same problem. Transfer slows then
hangs and can't be killed. Back to 12.04lts. I have a box with Natty
11.04 and won't give it up. Light, stable, and FAST. Too bad I can't get
support. All releases for 12 have been bloaty and slow (like windows) in
my opinion, but I did find raring to be a bit quicker and a little more
nimble. Thanks. Bud.

[Bug 1067515] Re: Locking from user menu fails second time (gnome-screensaver SimulateUserActivity() doesn't return)

2013-03-14 Thread Øyvind Stegard
The following dbus calls seem to no longer work (e.g. screensaver is not
deactivated or timeout reset):
$ dbus-send --session --type=method_call  --dest=org.gnome.ScreenSaver /
org.gnome.ScreenSaver.SimulateUserActivity
$ dbus-send --session --type=method_call  --dest=org.gnome.ScreenSaver
/org/gnome/ScreenSaver org.gnome.ScreenSaver.SimulateUserActivity

(two different object paths, since it looks like object path has changed
to /, at least according to d-feet dbus debugger).

Also, xdg-screensaver suspend wid does not seem to work either. It
uses the second call above to keep screensaver from activating.

gnome-screensaver 3.6.0-0ubuntu2.1, Ubuntu 12.10.

Does the SimulateUserActivity work for anyone else ? I cannot figure out
what's wrong.

[Bug 1155145] [NEW] IMAP attachments corruption

2013-03-14 Thread Florin Gherendi
Public bug reported:

On Oneiric Ocelot 11.10, Evolution 3.2.2-0ubuntu0.1 corrupts attachments when
saving from IMAP account. It hapens very often on MS Office files (not on all
of them), which makes it practically unusable.
The IMAP server is local so network latency should not be a problem. Saving
attachment from pine and then copying from server is ok, so it's not a problem
of the attachment itself.

It might be related to the fact that sometimes the IMAP connection hangs
indefinitely and has to be stopped. IMAP ping errors are also reported
frequently (bad timeout management issue?).

Looking for an obvious answer on google, there might be one, but I had
no success after a very long search time (and I am not a newbie), so I
cannot tell if these problems have been fixed for more recent releases.
No update that would fix this has been released so far for Ubuntu 11.10.

Florin

[Bug 1025508] Re: Some keys in keyboard layout show duplicate character labels

2013-03-14 Thread James M. Leddy
I think the issue has always been present. What the code does is that it
prints a label for each key and then 3 modifiers. The patch won't print
the modifiers if they don't change the label. So it compares the
unmodified key label (POS_TOPLEFT) to the modifier label and if they are
the same it skips the modifiers on the label.

I haven't gotten a response on the upstream bug and I think they are
hoping to replace libgnomekbd. I'll post on the bug again and see if I
can get a response.

[Bug 1130746] Re: Update to nautilus 3.7.90

2013-03-14 Thread TheGhost
One of the main benefits of a newer nautilus would be the reactivation
of recursive file search, which is broken in 3.6 and is a kind of
regression compared to older Ubuntu versions. In short this regression
would not be very user friendly.

How is the status on this request ? Is there a chance to see nautilus
3.7 in Raring without PPAs ?

[Bug 950352] Re: Online Accounts UI Missing

2013-03-14 Thread karashata
I'm experiencing this issue as well, recently upgraded to the Raring
Ringtail development branch.

gnome-online-accounts, libgoa-1.0-0, libgoa-1.0-common are all showing
as version 3.6.2-1.

gnome-control-center and gnome-control-center-data are at version
1:3.6.3-1

I tried installing Empathy to see if I could get access to edit the
accounts that way but the Account Settings button doesn't appear to work
there either.

Attempting to launch GNOME Control Center directly into the Online
Accounts panel from a terminal or one of the virtual consoles results in
an error message stating the settings panel could not be found (as
already mentioned verbose by others in this comment thread).

Erp, somehow I had a different version of gnome-control-center and
gnome-control-center-data installed than the versions in Raring.
Installing the versions from Raring restored the missing Online Accounts
panel.
