[Bug 517215] Re: Evince prints an extra blank page after each print job
I would like to see this bug reopened, because it is an issue that I have been facing since I started using Ubuntu four years ago, and which I have experiences with a range of HP laserprinters (strangely enough, I do not have any experience with other printers ;). This is an anoying bug, causing paper to be spilled. I am surprised to find so few information about this on the internet: apparently people do not care. The issue is long standing and confined to evince only. To reproduce, open a PDF in Ubuntu, Ctrl+p, select Current page, and instead of the current page, the current page + a blanc page comes out. Print the entire document, and an extra page comes out. This is not related to mismatched papersizes between the print settings and the PDF page size: I tested that. (in fact, there would be no reason for a blank page even if paper sizes would not match). I changed the description of this bug from Additional blank pages to Evince prints an extra blank page after each print job. Please provide clear instructions if you need extra information, as my technical background is limited. ** Summary changed: - Additional blank pages + Evince prints an extra blank page after each print job -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/517215 Title: Evince prints an extra blank page after each print job To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/517215/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1157621] [NEW] access() calls included for debugging hang nautilus on webdav fuse mount
Public bug reported: Nautilus issues access() calls with the filenames that can't possibly exist: [pid 14422] access(MARK: nautilus nautilus_directory_emit_change_signals: start , F_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) [pid 14422] access(MARK: nautilus nautilus_directory_emit_files_changed: start , F_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) [pid 14422] access(MARK: nautilus nautilus_directory_emit_files_changed: end , F_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) [pid 14422] access(MARK: nautilus nautilus_directory_emit_change_signals: end , F_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) This was created in 2006, http://people.gnome.org/~federico/news-2006-03.html#09 to aid debugging, however as access() is used for testing whether the object exists/can be read/written by the process, these calls actually hit the underlying filesystem. While local filesystems are pretty quick to answer with ENOENT, the remote filesystems, such as WebDAV over FUSE (with davfs2) will need to check with the server for these files every time. davfs2 caches the results, however if the remote filesystem was modified by copying a file there, nautilus will hang until davfs2 finishes uploading the file and is able to answer that access() call in case it was issued with the current working dir set to a directory on davfs mount. I think this method to gather performance information should be replaced with something that does not use access() so that filesystem is not touched at all. [Bug 907311] Re: Not exiting properly? An instance of Brasero is already running, exiting
Here we see the problem with marking bugs as duplicates. It may be helpful to see the comments in the duplicate bug reports. This is something that happens when brasero is started as context. (as stated above) The problem is that the dialog that then opens expects that it was opened from the main window and so doesn't exit when it closes... but there is no main window open to exit from. There needs to be a wrapper around context use that does that... sort of an invisible main window that exits brasero when the context dialog exits. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to brasero in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/907311 Title: Not exiting properly? I also have this bug. I've used the korean keyboard in previous ubuntu releases with iBus. The korean layout is actually two keyboard layouts in one. The first one is similar to the english layout The second one is the hangul layout. I used to be able to switch between these two (still in the same korean ibus layout) with a key I mapped for that (Can't remember the name). [Bug 1080656] Re: bluetooth-wizard crashes when the name of a discovered device is NULL
I've got a ZelHer P20 headset and a W520 Lenovo laptop, the same problem occurs. What I observed is that during the first 60 seconds of activating the P20 headset, running bt-adapter -d will display the Name: (null) and in the bluetooth-wizard, it only shows the bt address (mac-like format). After about 60 seconds of the headset in pairing mode, re-running bt- adapter-d, the name field is now populated. After the name field is present, pairing can be complete. [Bug 1041887] Re: Cannot type Korean characters.
On 2012-09-18, John Kim wrote: What I meant was if one goes to language support, allows ibus as an input method, and install ibus-hangul from the software center, one can type in Korean. Right. And just switching to a Korean keyboard layout is not supposed to be sufficient, is it? Btw, ibus-hangul is automatically installed if you install the Korean language. But doing so is not necessary; as you said you can install it via e.g. the Software Centre. So I take it there is no Cannot type Korean characters bug. Possibly there were a couple of misconceptions. On 2013-03-20 14:46, Floby wrote: I also have this bug. Which bug is that? The korean layout is actually two keyboard layouts in one. The first one is similar to the english layout The second one is the hangul layout. I used to be able to switch between these two (still in the same korean ibus layout) with a key I mapped for that (Can't remember the name). I can do so now. If Korean - Korean is the only (or the topmost) input method in IBus Preferences, I can switch between them by typing Ctrl + Space. The problem seems to be caused by the chronic impossibility to remap anything in Ubuntu + Unity. There is an interface in IBus Preferences for setting keyboard shortcuts.
