[Bug 1688143] [NEW] Stop disabling bluetooth!
Public bug reported: Randomly after resuming from sleep, restarting, logging in or opening the screen on a laptop, bluetooth gets disabled. *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1680438 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1680438 Okay, I think I've found the reason for the issue. Basically, the calculator is viewing the *new input* and the *last answer* as separate numbers. Since no operator is specified, it is assumed to be multiplication between the two numbers. So on this bug, you type: First calc: -512−165+412−60 First result: -325 New input: 1849-325 ...however, the *calculator* sees New input: 1849 * -325 therefore, it sends out the (in it's mind correct) answer of -600925 ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1680438 gnome-calculator comes up with totally wrong answer -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-calculator in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1687053 Title: Incorrect result in a calc To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-calculator/+bug/1687053/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1680438] Re: gnome-calculator comes up with totally wrong answer
Okay, I think I've found the reason for the issue, and you're right; it is a duplicate. Basically, the calculator is viewing the *new input* and the *last answer* as separate numbers. Since no operator is specified, it is assumed to be multiplication between the two numbers. On this bug, for instance, I type 7 This works normally. 7 = 7; it correctly calculates that. Then I move my arrow key over to type a 12 before the 7 and the arrow keys right to type +7. However, where I am seeing 127 + 7 the calculator is seeing 12 x 7 + 7 Therefore, it calculates that 12 * 7 (84) + 7 = 91. It's the same issue on the duplicate; I'll explain in a comment over there. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-calculator in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1680438 Title: gnome-calculator comes up with totally wrong answer To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-calculator/+bug/1680438/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1685141] Re: System freezes after locking screen
I think I found a workaround. I noticed the traceback I saw in syslog happened a lot before I tried to log back in and I deduced it happened when notification were displayed on my locked screen. Since I disabled notifications on my lock screen (Notifications > Notifications on lock screen) I haven't encountered the bug anymore. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1685141 Title: System freezes after locking screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-screensaver/+bug/1685141/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1685141] Re: System freezes after locking screen
Same happened to me. For whatever reason both Intel Microcode and nvidia proprietary drivers were not used after upgrade from 16.10. The installation of the nvidia proprietary drivers (alone) didn't solve the problem. But now, after additionally installing microcodes it seems to work. I will Inform if the lock-screen issue returns.
