[Bug 1893579] Re: Ctrl + Alt + T and Fn keys not working

2020-09-02 Thread Geziel Fernández
Could it be a problem of this version?

LSB Version:
core-11.1.0ubuntu2-noarch:printing-11.1.0ubuntu2-noarch:security-11.1.0ubuntu2-noarch
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description:Ubuntu Groovy Gorilla (development branch)
Release:20.10
Codename: groovy

I installed first the Ubuntu 20.04, which was charminly working...
could the 'gorilla groovy' be a mess?

I realized that some additional shortcuts, besides the informed ones,
are no longer working. And maybe even worst, not only shortcuts: the
brightness adjusting bar, that one in the superior right corner is
useless.

[Bug 1894031] [NEW] Ubuntu 20.10 gnome-control-center dropdowns missing for screen resolution and primary screen

2020-09-02 Thread Rocko
Public bug reported:

The Ubuntu 20.10 version of g-c-c lacks the dropdown controls for
changing screen resolution or selecting the primary monitor. Where there
is normally a dropdown, there is just a label showing the current screen
resolution or primary monitor. In some cases the dropdown is there, eg
it might be there for the laptop monitor but not the external
monitor(s). Changing the resolution of a monitor using xrandr sometimes
makes the dropdown appear in g-c-c.

I have attached a screenshot showing the issue.

Also please tell us if the problem happens:

 * Without your custom xrandr commands

 * In a Wayland session (select 'Ubuntu on Wayland') from the login
screen after selecting your username.

[Bug 1894018] [NEW] Visible Network list interface disconnects without user prompt upon just clicking the netowrk name

2020-09-02 Thread Mikhail
Public bug reported:

Visible Network wifi list interface
Be connected to some wifi network
Click on any network name (reconnects if clicked on currently connected
network, and disconnects when clicked on some other network)
Current wifi connection disconnects. No prompt no nothing. Just
disconnects/reconnects.

It would be best to ask prior to disconnect. It would be good to prompt
whether user wants to initiate connection (and just then prompt for
password).

right and it's still related. Any thoughts right now on when 450 reaches
official?

[Bug 1892897] Re: Cannot access a Samba file share anymore due to "Failed to retrieve file list from server"

2020-09-02 Thread Morbius1
More of an FYI but you will get a "Software caused connection abort"
error anytime Nautilus tries to connect to a SMB / Samba server that
only uses SMB1.

There is no SMB1 ( NT1 ) on the client ( or server ) side in Ubuntu20.
There is in Ubuntu 18.

SO either enable SMB2/SMB3 on the diskstation or enable SMB1 on the
client side of Ubuntu20 by editing smb.conf and adding in the [global]
section:

client min protocol = NT1

Then reboot.

Disabling Nvidia GPU (RTX 2080) and using Intel GPU doesn't produce the
issue. Not sure about Nvidia nouveau drivers. But nvidia-driver-440 has

[Bug 1893729] Re: Keyboard shortcuts stop working

2020-09-02 Thread Iain Lane
I've rolled this back to the previous working version, 3.36.1-1ubuntu2.

People who have already upgraded and received this version will *not*
get automatically downgraded. Please run (should work shortly, once the
mirrors catch up):

  sudo apt install gnome-settings-daemon=3.36.1-1ubuntu2 gnome-settings-
daemon-common=3.36.1-1ubuntu2

from a terminal, and then restart, to revert your system to the previous
version. Hopefully this is ok, on a development release, and for a short
while - we expect 3.37 to arrive properly soon.

I will shortly be re-uploading 3.37 but with packaging fixes that should
cause it to not be available to users until the rest of GNOME 3.37 is
also available.

Re: [Bug 1870736] Re: [nvidia] Screen scaling 125% gives 200%

2020-09-02 Thread obobo
Honestly, the only way to get anything approaching reliable "fractional
scaling" that I've found, is to lower the resolution of the smaller
monitor by a ratio similar to its relative screen size.  e.g. in my
case, I have two 4k monitors (one external, one a laptop monitor) where
the laptop monitor is about 1/3 of the physical size of the external
monitor.  Dropping the internal monitor's resolution from 3840x2160 to
1920x1080 finally makes everything the same size on both screens -
without any slow down - only it's a bit of a waste of a 4k display :-/
