[Bug 1980420] [NEW] Sharing: VNC password isn't changed when the remote desktop password is changed while VNC is disabled

2022-06-30 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Public bug reported:

Impact
--
VNC password isn't changed when the remote desktop password is changed while
VNC is disabled

The password is successfully set for VNC if VNC is enabled.

This bug is probably uncommon but could be annoying if it does happen.

Test Case
-
1. Open the Settings app
2. In the left sidebar, choose Sharing.
3. Turn on sharing in the top bar of the app the click Remote Desktop
4. Turn on Remote Desktop
5. Turn on "Enable Legacy VNC Protocol"
6. Click ⋮ and switch to "Require a password"
7. Turn off "Enable Legacy VNC Protocol"
8. Change the Password at the bottom of the dialog.
9. Turn on "Enable Legacy VNC Protocol"
10. Open a terminal and run grdctl status --show-credentials
11. The original password is still set for VNC

Other Info
--
You can also view (or change) the passwords using the Password & Keys app
(seahorse).
In the left sidebar, click Passwords> Login and then look for GNOME Remote
Desktop RDP credentials and GNOME Remote Desktop VNC password.

[Bug 1980408] [NEW] Update glib to 2.72.3

2022-06-30 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Public bug reported:

Impact
--
There is a new bugfix release in the stable 2.72 series

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/glib/-/blob/2.72.3/NEWS

Test Case 1
---
glib has an extensive test suite.

Failing tests will fail the build.
This update will also trigger a lot of autopkgtests.

Ensure that there aren't autopgktest regressions triggered by this
update and that the builds complete successfully

Test Case 2
---
Pretty much all parts of GNOME use GLib, so test anything in the desktop that
you can. If you reboot the machine and can get to the desktop, that's already
tested GLib extensively. But also run applications like the terminal, the file
browser and epiphany-browser

What Could Go Wrong
---
This update contains fixes in multiple places so multiple apps could be
affected. The consequences of a broken GLib can range from some functions
returning bad results sometimes, which have minimal runtime implications, up to
the system simply crashing all the time.

** Affects: glib2.0 (Ubuntu)

+ dh_langpack: processing files to add translation domain 'gtk4'..
+
+ Other Info

+ This bug won't be fully fixed until a new language pack is built and

approximately late July).
+
+ Original Bug Report
+ ---
+ In RTL locales (e.g. fa_IR.UTF-8), the alignment of window buttons (close,

2022-06-30 Thread zubozrout
Behaves the same with the same error message for me on Wayland. Removing
".config/totem" doesn't seem to make any difference. But switching back
to Xorg does solve it for me.
