Re: [Bug 224475] Re: Pressing volume/brightness key changes window focus (e.g. makes Flash exit full screen)
Another comment - while it very well may be Adobe bug, on my machine (Dell D620, Karmic) if I watch flash in Firefox it exits full screen on volume change but if I watch it in Chrome beta it does not. Chrome uses the same flash plugin as Firefox. I do not know for sure if Chrome uses GTK or QT (or even quite possibly it's own widgets). Just another me too with info I have not seen in this bug. I can't confirm this at all, I'm using Chromium (not sure if you are using actual Chrome) and Flash still exists fullscreen on volume changes. -- Pressing volume/brightness key changes window focus (e.g. makes Flash exit full screen) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224475 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

On Wed, Dec 2, 2009 at 5:18 AM, Matthew Paul Thomas m...@canonical.com wrote: nikolay, thanks for that analysis. I think you're right, this bug is not actually in Flash and it has other unpleasant effects. I think that is half correct. While making the notifications not unfocus the focused window would work around this specific case, it is still a bug in Flash that unfocusing the window exists fullscreen. Use multiple monitors and you will see that a fullscreen window will commonly not have focus. For example, I can fullscreen any application or watch fullscreen videos in totem/vlc/banshee/hulu desktop (which is flash, interestingly enough) on one monitor while working on another, and the flash plugin is the only application I know of which fails at this use case. So, I agree that it would be GREAT to fix the focus issue on our side and resolve the other unpleasant effects you mention, but there is no reason for Flash to expect focus to remain in fullscreen either (no other application does), so it is also a bug in Flash. It seems like the bug should be fixed on both sides, because neither should be behaving the way it is it seems, and both will have good consequences besides this bug :) -- Pressing volume/brightness key changes window focus (e.g. makes Flash exit full screen) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224475 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 279406] Re: Shut Down dialog doesn't open in the foreground
This is working as intended originally, though perhaps the intention should change. What happens is that when you press the power button, if there has been keyboard or mouse activity recently, it opens in the background so you don't accidentally select one of the options. I'm not sure what the rationale is here exactly, perhaps that this dialog can be triggered automatically in some conditions, or that some power buttons are easily accidentally pressed, and so if you are in the middle of clicking or typing when this happens, you will shutdown/restart/etc unintentionally and perhaps lose data. Perhaps it should not perform this check and always come to the front. I surprisingly couldn't find a duplicate so I've opened a task for gnome-panel. ** Description changed: The drop down calendar in the panel that opens when you click on the date and time will only close if you click again on the date and time. It would be much nicer if the calendar would close with any click outside the calendar. For example: When I'm using the calendar, I tend to click it open, glance at it, and return very quickly to what I was working on. The intuitive thing would be for the calendar to simply close when I click back on the application I was working on, in order to keep work flow interruption to a minimum. [Bug 337964] Re: Power Manager is the only System-Preferences.. tool that can't be dismissed with ESC
Okay I can confirm it then, thanks! There are some other popular non- default ones that don't obey; if someone agrees this is how all System-Preference windows should behave, we should file bugs for CCSM and Simple CCSM, and AWN Manager. [Bug 249958] Re: touching a fullscreen application with the mousepointer puts it in front
Tomas, if your emails aren't getting to Launchpad then we have no way to triage your bugs. From the perspective of anyone looking at the bug, you aren't responding. I understand your frustration in that you are trying to communicate, but obviously no one else has any way of knowing that and the actions taken are quite logical in response (marking Incomplete or Invalid). If it is a recurring issue (I've never heard of anyone else having troubles) then just visit the actual bug page and leave your comments there to ensure they go through. [Bug 322888] Re: canseling file move should give the option of deleting partial files
Thank you Volodya for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better! This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. I have classified this bug as a bug in nautilus. For future reference you might be interested to know that a lot of applications (including nautilus) have bug reporting functionality built in to them. This can be accessed via the Report a Problem option in the Help menu for the application with which you are having an issue. [Bug 76449] Re: Cannot sort static playlists
I am indifferent Sergey. As it is a queue I think sorting it could be confusing, such as what happens to the currently playing song. If it moves to the middle, where will play resume? And would rhythmbox even behave gracefully in that case? Otherwise it is somewhat of an arbitrary restriction. -- Cannot sort static playlists https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/76449 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
