[Bug 1003671] Re: [soundnua]: Internal sound card (HDA ATI SB) not showed in Sound Input
If it's just the internal mic (which seems to be the case for both Luca and Philip), it's probably bug 946232, please head over there, see if the description and workaround is accurate. [Bug 1003671] Re: [soundnua]: Internal sound card (HDA ATI SB) not showed in Sound Input
Thanks David. Bug 946232 exactly describes my situation. [Bug 1003671] Re: [soundnua]: Internal sound card (HDA ATI SB) not showed in Sound Input
Have you tried actually plugging something in? The new sound settings will not show things if they are not available. [Bug 1003671] Re: [soundnua]: Internal sound card (HDA ATI SB) not showed in Sound Input
Bug #1001554 under indicator-sound may be a duplicate of this bug. Before discovering this bug, I confirmed and added a comment to that report -- in summary, the microphone input on an eeepc (which is built- in) does not appear in the gnome-control-center record sound from list. However the microphone works and input volume can be adjusted with the indicator-sound dropdown slider *when an application is actively using the mic*. Please let me know if I can provide any details about my hardware that will make tracking this down easier. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1003671 Title: [soundnua]: Internal sound card (HDA ATI SB) not showed in Sound Input To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1003671/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1003671] Re: [soundnua]: Internal sound card (HDA ATI SB) not showed in Sound Input
David, yes it's the internal microphone/input (Realtek ALC889 on MSI 790GX-G65 motherboard). Pulseaudio seems unaffected to me, see attached out `pactl list`, and nothing changes plugging headphone jacks. ** Attachment added: On same system, running Sound setting inside GNOME Session (in Italian, sorry) https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1003671/+attachment/3161618/+files/audio-gnome-with-internal.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1003671 Title: [soundnua]: Internal sound card (HDA ATI SB) not showed in Sound Input To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1003671/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
