[Bug 4758] Re: [Bug 4758] Re: After upgrade to Breezy, hierarchical folder message list no longer correct

It appears that override server-supplied folder namespace solves the
problem.

Not sure what this means but got the idea from 21328 :-)

might be something like bug #21328, could you try if that's fixed with
 dapper?

should the bug be closed then? is that with dapper?

I am on the latest LTS; not sure if this solution would have worked
before (?)

You can certainly close the bug, but I think maybe there's a
documentation solution out
there, with some sort of prompt or help text on the preferences screen.
As you know,
mail is a deceptive application, simple in the interface but very deep
in the internals . . .
the user needs to be either protected or guided.

Thanks for following up with me.

[Bug 4758] Re: [Bug 4758] Re: After upgrade to Breezy, hierarchical folder message list no longer correct

2006-04-11 Thread David Friedlander
Hi there:

I'm not sure any more what the earlier behavior was, but here's
what's going on now.

I have a strange mail folder arrangement as follows:
Inbox -- With messages
   |_Folder1 -- with messages
   |_Folder 2 -- with messages
Etc.

Although Evolution shows a number of messages on the Inbox in the
folder window (on the left),
clicking on Inbox does not bring up the message list -- it remains
empty.

Other mail software does not exhibit this problem.

David

On second thought, make that: problem or behavior

Thanks for keeping up with me.

I switched from Evolution to Thunderbird because there were a lot of
little nits.

I'll put Evolution on one of my machines again and see . . .
