[Bug 992533] Re: [fglrx] gnome-control-center reports desktop monitor as Laptop
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 970560 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/970560 I don't think this bug is a duplicate of bug #970560. In fact robert doesn't say his monitor is seen as laptop, but his Desktop, those big boxes we had in our home until some years ago, nowadays replaced by laptops :) In fact i recently noticed that on two desktops (one is mine, the other is of a friend of mine) their monitor are seen as laptop instead of the real name of the monitor. In addiction to this I have to say that both computers have a NVIDIA graphic card, but I suspect this misbehavior is present also with ATI ones -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/992533 Title: [fglrx] gnome-control-center reports desktop monitor as Laptop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-control-center/+bug/992533/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 992533] Re: [fglrx] gnome-control-center reports desktop monitor as Laptop
Confirmed. Seems to be specific to the fglrx driver, which reports the DVI output names as DFP1, DFP2 in xrandr. This is unusual so gnome- control-center is probably misinterpreting those names to be a laptop display. But it's a desktop. ** Also affects: gnome-control-center Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/992533 Title: [fglrx] gnome-control-center reports desktop monitor as Laptop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-control-center/+bug/992533/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
