Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. Unfortunately a paper cut should be a small usability issue that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. I'm afraid this bug can't be addressed as part of this project. This is not the setup of an average user and hence not a papercut. Disabling the sound plugin probably won't fix it, as it is the media- keys plugin that is using Pulseaudio. [Bug 404823] Re: hibernate / suspend RESUME failure on 64 bit 9.04 w/ EMERALD
** Summary changed: - hibernate / suspend RESUME failure on 64 bit 9.04 + hibernate / suspend RESUME failure on 64 bit 9.04 w/ EMERALD ** Description changed: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager Hello On a Samsung X360 with Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty 64 bit version) I have a problem with RESUME from hibernate or sleep. In both cases it seems my computer will sleep/hibernate, and in the latter case when going through the grub loading stage, it even states 'waking' or something, but ultimately, it seems to completely restart the X-server, therefore the state of my desktop is not preserved at all. + + Some tests indicate this may be an issue with the EMERALD window + decorator, that is, it seems to work if I use GTK. [Bug 382167] Re: LCD backlight flickers when adjusting it and when the system is idle
It looks like in Karmic alpha3 the backlight works really good. This also happens with Karmic Alpha 3. [Bug 400820] Re: gnome-volume-control-applet takes up to 40% cpu
Ranting, not ranting, upstream commenting that pulseaudio should be made necessary for gnome volume control in distributions... and then... here is an interesting upstream comment! Comment #9 from Marc-Andre Lureau(gnome-media developer, points: 21) 2009-07-26 10:20 UTC [reply] (In reply to comment #8) how can I use gnome-media without the pulseaudio? It used to work in previous versions but not in 2.27.x. ./configure --enable-gstmix Now if some ubuntu developer could please investigate what this switch does and eventually enable that one for gnome-volume-control, that would be very very nice. I mean: I am loving pulseaudio and even found some dirty workaround for skype (that is, disabling pulseaudio temporarily). But it would be even nicer if the gnome mixer could use its full power even without pulseaudio. That will not change anything in ubuntu and will improve its flexibility. I think upstream is going to maintain that code anyways so we should not worry. -- gnome-volume-control-applet takes up to 40% cpu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/400820 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 404593] Re: No or wrong icons for filesystems
The clue is here: themed icons: [gdu-raid-array] [gdu-raid] [gdu] devicekit-disks uses new icon names for RAID members, and that might be causing your issue. Does the problem go away if you create an icon called gdu-raid-array, eg by doing something like ln -s /usr/share/icons/Human/scalable/devices/gnome-dev-harddisk.svg /usr/share/icons/Human/scalable/devices/gdu-raid-member.svg? (You might need to create the icon in some other sizes for it to show properly in the panel). [Bug 404875] [NEW] rhythmbox should rather remember relative file path and volume id instead of absolute path
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox Seems that currently rhythmbox stores song's path as absolute filesystem path. It causes a problem if you store music on volume that needs to be mounted before use. E.g. I have separate NTFS partition, and in most cases it gets mounted as /media/disk. But if I have pendrive plugged in during bootup it gets mounted as /media/disk-1. In this case rhythmbox can find none of my songs. [Bug 400820] Re: gnome-volume-control-applet takes up to 40% cpu
#45, Vincenzo, The gstmix version of gnome-volume-control is deprecated. It is maintained for Solaris by Solaris guys. It's not meant to be a 1-1 substitute of the new gnome-volume-control, which uses the PulseAudio features (I won't make the long list here). We decided to opt-in for PulseAudio 1 year ago, because it is the only way to move forward the audio stack on Linux. It is clearly the best we can do to improve sound experience with GNOME, and for that, GNOME need to depend on it. The old gnome-volume-control based on gstmix is marked as deprecated. GStreamer folks are also in the process of deprecating the gstmixer interface in the next major release. Eventually, some day, some folks will try to make an abstract audio mixer library. But this is not a simple task. And most probably, it won't depend on GStreamer this time. -- gnome-volume-control-applet takes up to 40% cpu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/400820 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 404896] [NEW] Password reset for POP accounts is not obvious.
