[Bug 1882453] [NEW] [nvidia] GUI blanks after long period of use
You have been subscribed to a public bug: GUI screen goes blank with a right click on the desktop or a click on the power button. The entire systems seems to slow too, with CPU utilization reaching 100% at a consistent interval. This has happened twice already after a long period of idle or when conducting many actions with several applications. Not sure if any of it is causation given its only happened twice and I can't replicate the problem consistently. If you need further information reach me at clmora...@pm.me. [Bug 1879968] Re: copy/paste still sometimes fails in LibreOffice on mutter 3.36.2
Marcello. I switched to Wayland. For a while now I have noticed Libreoffice, wine applications, and some others being irritatingly slow, and wondered why. It's Wayland! Switching back to the normal ubuntu desktop has bought speed back, but brought the bug back with it. I can't help wondering if all software has got too complicated these days. One might think something as basic as this was simple to find and fix. Clearly not. I guess I'll just have to take the performance hit and hope that the almost defunct Wayland has no other major issues. I use copy and paste a lot in spreadsheets as well as in documents. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 1882585] [NEW] gnome crashes when trying to lock session
Public bug reported: When trying to lock session, either through key combination or clicking 'lock' in the top right menu, gnome unexpectedly freezes. During the time it's freezed I can move the mouse freely, but everything stops (even the clock). After some time it seems to restart because it flashes and everything goes back to normal. [Bug 1882585] Re: gnome crashes when trying to lock session
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1882585 Title: gnome crashes when trying to lock session To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1882585/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Thanks. Those both show gnome-shell is idle and not frozen in any obvious way. So that gives me two ideas: * I wonder if this is one of those rare cases where it's starting on the wrong VT. Please try: Ctrl+Alt+F4, Ctrl+Alt+F2 etc and see if you can find the missing session when it appears to freeze. * I wonder if the 'qxl' kernel graphics driver is failing to report (virtual) presentation events with correct timestamps. [Bug 1882342] Re: Ubuntu 20 Charging Indicator Blinks
I think the issue persisted a week ago. I tried to research the solution but couldn't find much. Before that, my laptop battery was working fine. Even the battery has lasted for 4-5 hours. But now, it's not behaving as expected. After a full charge, it takes less than an hour to drop the battery percentage (nearly 45%) and then suddenly to 5% giving notification that "The laptop will be hibernated". I don't know whether it's the problem of my battery or a charging adapter. I've also attached the screencast showing my power statistics. The videos show blinking of the indicator as well as a change of percentage(%) in App Indicators. When the blinking stops, it means that the charge is 100% full and vice-versa. Hoping to get a quick response from you back soon. Thanks. ** Attachment added: "Ubuntu Power Indicator.zip" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-power-manager/+bug/1882342/+attachment/5381847/+files/Ubuntu%20Power%20Indicator.zip -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1882342 Title: Ubuntu 20 Charging Indicator Blinks To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-power-manager/+bug/1882342/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

You have been subscribed to a public bug: Worked fine until recent reboot. Now the super key on the external keyboard connected to a dock via thunderbolt port does not work. It still works on internal laptop keyboard. Tried switching to a few different languages but had no effect.
