The left padding, inside every tile, should be such that the left edge of the icon inside the first column of tiles lines up with the left edge of the heading for the tiled area, e.g. What's New. And this padding should be identical for the category list. (In the attached screenshot, the red lines should be the same distance from the edge of their areas.) 2. The top edge of the first category in the category list, should line up with the top edge of the heading text in the What's New area. (In the screenshot, the pink lines should be continuous.) 3. The left edge of the category list should line up with the left edge of the Back button. (The orange lines should be continuous.) Similarly, the right edge of the What's New area should line up with the right edge of the search field. (The black lines in the screenshot are from bug 961102.) [Desktop-packages] [Bug 185600] Re: [Upstream] LibreOffice repeatedly freezes after resuming laptop from sleep
I confirm this bug on Ubuntu 11.04, 64 bit, LibreOffice 3.3.4, OOO330m19 (Build:401) GPU: nVidia Quadro 4000 nVidia proprietary driver: 295.20 Session manager: Gnome 2.32.1 Window manager: metacity 2.30.3 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to libreoffice in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/185600 Title: [Upstream] LibreOffice repeatedly freezes after resuming laptop from sleep Status in Compiz: New Status in LibreOffice Productivity Suite: Confirmed Status in NVIDIA Drivers Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in “nvidia-graphics-drivers-180” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in “openoffice.org” package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: Binary package hint: openoffice.org I've used Feisty and Gutsy but this problem has started happening only recently. Here are the steps to reproduce: 1. Open a document in oowriter. 2. Put the laptop to sleep. 3. Resume the laptop. Here are the symptoms: 1. Scrolling in the openoffice document is jerky. Basically, if I hit page up or page down, oowriter freezes for a few seconds and compiz grays the oowriter window (to show that the app is not responding), eventually oowriter unfreezes, refreshes its screen and is responsive again. If I try to scroll again, the same freeze repeats. 2. Sometimes oowriter seems to also cause other applications to temporarily be unresponsive. The symptom here is that compiz grays *all* the windows on the screen for a few seconds until oowriter becomes reponsive again. 3. No other application freezes like that after resume. Note that symptom 2 above happens *only* when oowriter is running. 4. This one is also a workaround: if I restart openoffice, the problem goes away. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 971628] Re: Can't use WPA with ipw2200
I agree that this fix should not included. The bug is in ipw2200, it works with nl80211 as I can connect just fine if I specify the network manually, but it does not advertise the wpa capabilities. Maybe the NM logic should be changed to use the interface that advertises better capabilities or include a configuration option to force use of wext, nl80211 or what ever there might be in future. But that discussion propably should go to nm-mailing lists. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/971628 Title: Can't use WPA with ipw2200 Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: If some driver implements wext interface and nl80211 interface the latter is preferred. Re: [Desktop-packages] [Bug 971628] Re: Can't use WPA with ipw2200
Should the nl80211 interface be patched out of the kernel? Or patcheed to report encryption capabilities? This interface doesn't even report that wep is supported and thats plain wrong. I agree with you that this patch isn't the best way to solve this. I just asked myself: if I can call the nl80211 util function and it returns NULL if that's not implemented, shouldn't it be possible to do the same with the wext function? But I didn't check thoroughly. I think ubuntu schould just work out of the box. Many just aren't interested why. There are some threads around the internet where this problem is solved simply by not using network-manager. wicd is used instead because it just works. WPA is officialy supported by intel on windows und it obviously works on linux/ubuntu if network-manager isn't used so I have no doubt that WPA is supported on linux. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 969235] Re: Keyboard shortcuts - Update some window management shortcuts to use Ctrl + Super instead of just Super
It should also be noted that a Ctrl+Super+x keybinding implies both of the prefix characters pressed together and then the additional key, and that depending which of Super and Ctrl contacts first depends on whether the launcher is triggered falsely. The receiver only gets the email once. How to reproduce: -- Get Thunderbird 11.01 Make an (IMAP) account. #1 make a second account #2 Compose a email and select account #1 as sender in the From field. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 936777] Re: thunderbird selects wrong account for forwarding email
SOLVED Damm... After some experimentation I know what causes this problem I also got the solution. Last week I swished in my account #1 the SMTP server from my own VPS to the one from Gmail according to account #2. In that case all email send over that SMTP gets the sender of the Gmail account. If you think about this it's logical. It's an security issue on the Gmail SMTP that if you are using the Gmail SMTP the sender will be rewritten to the Gmail accounts setting. This is to avoid using the Gmail SMTP to send SPAM. So this issue is NOT a BUG. It's a wrong configuration in the Client. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 972962] Re: Brasero hides itself after burning ISO from command line
Happens also on Precise for me. Steps to reproduce: - Start Nautilus, open an ISO file with Brasero. - Click Cancel, Brasero closes. - Try to open the same or another ISO file again. Result: Nothing happens, Brasero won't open again. 'ps -e | grep brasero' shows that there is still a Brasero process in the background. If one kills this process, Brasero will start again after the next attempt. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 973221] [NEW] Lock screen breaks wallpaper on dual head
Public bug reported: I have two screens in a Nvidia/Twinview setup. There is a single-image wallpaper centered over the joined screens. When the lock screen shows, the wallpaper only shows on one screen (but the date/user information at the top shows on both). The aspect is preserved so this looks awful.
