[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1883673] Re: no sound after resume
If this still affects you the Fix wasn't enough. Passed on to further examination. ** Changed in: pulseaudio (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to pulseaudio in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1883673 Title: no sound after resume Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Hi! After a suspend/resume cycle with HDMI plugged in, it seems that pulseaudio doesn't recognize anymore the internal analog device (speakers/headphones) and I hear no sound. Before suspend I see two audio sinks through "pacmd list-sinks" (internal analog and HDMI), and after resume I only get HDMI audio. Still, audio only ever comes out of the internal device. A "killall pulseaudio" solves this for me (i.e., I get audio from the internal device). This looks a bit similar to the old bug #202089, but I don't know if it's the same. I can switch between the devices and in turn all volume controls seem to affect that device (including the hotkeys etc.). But the sound is only every played through the Speakers port. The only way to temporarily fix this (until reboot or even suspend) is to open pavucontrol and manually change the port of the built in audio to "headphone". Once the description is understandable - since you can install a package on the whole system, or only to a distinct user. This may effect the code you are checking out.
