[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1968213] Re: Icon theme reverts to Yaru when entering Appearance settings
The issue is reproducible for me in two different manners: First way: 1. Install gnome-tweaks and download a custom icon theme, for example: [la-capitaine-icon-theme](https://github.com/keeferrourke/la-capitaine-icon-theme) 2. Move this icon theme to ~/.icons 3. Open gnome-tweaks and in Appearance -> Icons, select this icon theme 4. Open gnome-control-center and go to Appearance tab. *No need to do anything further, just click on Appearance tab* Other way: 1. Set a custom icon theme in gnome-tweaks (I am using "la-capitaine-icon-theme", available at https://github.com/keeferrourke/la-capitaine-icon-theme ) 2. Minimize or close all open windows, and right-click to open desktop context menu 3. Select "Change background" The icons are reverted to Yaru-XX. The problem is the fact that this icon reverting occurs when the Appearance tab just opens rather than when some appearance setting is changed (as if Ubuntu tries to revert theme and icon settings on launch of Appearance tab, rather than invoking such a process on setting change). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1968213 Title: Icon theme reverts to Yaru when entering Appearance settings Status in gnome-control-center package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I upgraded to the 22.04 beta last week from 21.10. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1978930] Re: custom icons revert to default when gnome-control-center is invoked
This is my first time ever reporting bug on Ubuntu Launchpad, and did not know that Markdown formatting is not supported. I apologize for the inconvenience caused. Second, I wanted to attack the before and after screenshots of dock icons, but only "after.png" was attached. Below is the "before.png" ** Attachment added: "before.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1978930/+attachment/5597669/+files/before.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1978930 Title: custom icons revert to default when gnome-control-center is invoked Status in gnome-control-center package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: ## Package(s) information **Ubuntu release:** 22.04 LTS **Erroneous package name:** gnome-control-center **Erroneous package version:** 1:41.4-1ubuntu13.2 **Other package involved:** gnome-tweaks **Other package version:** 42~beta-1ubuntu1 ## Steps to reproduce 1.
