[native-lang] Extensions Website translation : Need help
HI all As you may know, the OpenOffice.org Extensions project has built a website gathering all the worldwide contributions. http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/ Coupled to the OOo Extensions Manager, it will be a usefull tool to enrich our favourite office suite The website has been designed using Drupal framework and no attention has been paid to internationalization until now It is now time to solve this issue. So we need help from someone knowing Drupal and wanting to help to setup the site so that it can contain international content There will be 2 parts to be translated - The easiest is the static part - A more challenging will be to allow translation (and at term contributions) of the extensions descriptions I started some notes here http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Extensions/website/Translating All will be discussed on the extensions website mailing list This project is important as OOo is used by a lot of people that does not speak english. So having an Extensions repository website able to speak their language will be seen as a high quality service So, any Drupal guru is welcommed :) Please join [EMAIL PROTECTED] and say a big Hello, I'm here to save you. Well, just a I want to help you is fine too Thanks in advance Laurent Ps: despite the positive wording of this email, this request is urgent and really important. -- Laurent Godard [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Ingénierie OpenOffice.org - http://www.indesko.com Nuxeo Enterprise Content Management http://www.nuxeo.com - http://www.nuxeo.org Livre Programmation OpenOffice.org, Eyrolles 2004-2006 - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: [native-lang] Translating extensions website
Hi Charles thank you very much for that page. I think that the idea to have one representative for each native-lang project is a good one. While for many of them, it might simply be the project lead, I would like to request all the native-lang project leads to nominate one representative in charge of translating /managing the future translations of the extensions web site (and the extensions themselves). I suggest to fill a page on the wiki on the moment on this model http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Extensions/website/Translating/NL_Representative Note that nomintatting someone is not that he will do all the job ! any volunteer will be able to help in the easiest way in the language he prefers Laurent - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[native-lang] New OOo extension : ImpressRunner
Hi all OOo does not have an Impress autostart feature for its documents nor does it support pps files (the --show switch is not known by end-users and not user-friendly) Therefore, i wrote an ImpressRunner extension simulating this http://oooconv.free.fr/impressRunner/ImpressRunner-1.0.oxt Obviously, end-users will have to install this extension for the first time (Tools Extension manager add). If it is not installed, the processus will be transparent (old behaviour). Once installed, any powerpoint slideshow .pps file will be autostarted as they should For impress file, if a document userfield property contains 'autostart' string, the file will also be played automatically (ie. presentation will be launched at startup). I also added a toolbar containing 2 buttons for setting or removing this mode for impress slideshow designers. Displaying it is not required for end users. Please consider this ImpressRunner version as a first shoot and feel free to advertize it widely i'm totally open to any suggestion and will try to enhance this tool soon (like translation and integrated help file) Have a nice day Laurent -- Laurent Godard [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Ingénierie OpenOffice.org - http://www.indesko.com Nuxeo Enterprise Content Management http://www.nuxeo.com - http://www.nuxeo.org Livre Programmation OpenOffice.org, Eyrolles 2004-2006 - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[native-lang] Extensions Website - Need Help
Hi all The Extension project is facing a problem actually regarding the web site design. A graphical mockup has been proposed (http://hooboo.free.fr/OOoext/), some first database tables proposed and feedback required on some implementation (http://www.cusoo.org/extensions/proto1/). Now, the volunteer coding the php+mysql part is moving away and we need a new one (or a new team) doing this Things are halted ! so here is a call for volunteer(s) for the PhP+MySQL design and implementation Regarding the structure of the extensions website, the main purpose is to make the extensions visible and browsable as soon as possible I think things can evolve once a first minimal site is up Some proposal has been to take the existing Mozilla source code, i'm ok with this if code can be provided and adapted. Is our Extension structure compatible ? But i've no problem with it providing it remains understandable and do not take ages. Once again, the urgent is to have a minimal thing up quickly allowing - defining/uploading an extension + description - listing/searching extensions (basic searches first, then browsable by categories aso) - downloading extensions The graphical part will be taken by Ben (and any volunteer willing to help him) and we need someone designing the php+mysql things So if you're interrested in helping the OOo Extensions project please join the [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list, the #ooo-ext freenode IRC channel, contact us directly as you want Feel free to ask for any details you may need and relay this message to any skilled people you may know Thanks in advance Laurent -- Laurent Godard [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Ingénierie OpenOffice.org - http://www.indesko.com Nuxeo Enterprise Content Management http://www.nuxeo.com - http://www.nuxeo.org Livre Programmation OpenOffice.org, Eyrolles 2004-2006 - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: [native-lang] New template project
Hi Charles, All i reply here as the extensions project has been nominated here 2) the templates design part - increase the amount of good templates Why not, indeed. But then there is an existing work and infrastructure. I'm not saying it is the best one, far from that . And as you know, there is also the idea of the MarketPlace, and the Extensions project, not to mention the Art sub project at the Marketing project. The Marketplace does not exist yet, but the extensions project and the Art initiative do. It is obvious to me that templates are Extensions and that technically they should be hosted inside the extensions repository that is being designed Mathias et al. already wrote a great text on deploying them http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Non-code_extensions Regarding the market place, it is a parralel problem (making money) and i already express myself on this - I won't say anything else more on it right now ... So, yes we lack a site for gathering templates and allowing spreading them. But his is beeing designed inside the Extensions project Simply, things take more time than planned and please read my call for volunteers Laurent -- Laurent Godard [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Ingénierie OpenOffice.org - http://www.indesko.com Nuxeo Enterprise Content Management http://www.nuxeo.com - http://www.nuxeo.org Livre Programmation OpenOffice.org, Eyrolles 2004-2006 - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi I still ready to work with you. I doesn't want to work in a separated chapel. I just found sf provide the required resources for work... I am happily help in template management, but I treally don not want to upload and edit html files on one-by-one basis. Is an automated way is planned for it in the near future? It should be the first step for extension/templates/gallery marketplace. Look kde-files.org for idea... We have a lot people with ideas .. and as said ideas are welcome ;-) But what we need is people to implement the ideas. So - the fair step was to offer help to establish such a place, not to ask for someone to do the work befor start contributing. Re: [native-lang] electing our CCR
Hi charles, hi all the time has come for the CCR elections (Community Contributor Representative). This particularly refers to active Incubator (formerly Whiteboard) leaders and prominent members of OpenOffice.org's online user community. The beginning of this election process starts when myself or other leads can nominate several candidates. Re: [native-lang] using the wiki
Hi +1. I think in general we have to lower the bar for regular contributions and include more bulletin-board like processes. Wiki offers that. I can think of several areas where it can come in handy, where it is better than a mail list or the Document/files section, and easier than CVS. For instance, managing in QA/l10n the status of a language's QA; or notifying, for marketing, events and who will be in attendance; or for drafting documentation. I also agree and plan to use in the extensions project context for translation. Some pages will be written in english and translations wille be pointed to the wiki so that NL can translate the information. If notified, i'll point them from the site Nothing done for the moment, but will come soon (i hope) Laurent -- Laurent Godard [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Ingénierie OpenOffice.org Indesko http://www.indesko.com Nuxeo CPS http://www.nuxeo.com - http://www.cps-project.org Livre Programmation OpenOffice.org, Eyrolles 2004 - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: [native-lang] Arabic spellchecker
Hi Christian, first of all, please forgive me for my silence I think the problem is to find a suitable algorithm to form the words. An arabic (I think it there is similar problems with hebrew) dictionary list would currently have to contain all possible forms of a word (or at least a big deal of them). myspell only works with prefixes/suffixes wich is not suitable for arabic. (Please correct me when I'm writing nonsense here) an hebrew spellchecker already exists so, there may be a way But this is no reason that there could not be an arabic dictionary-file. It just would be bigger... yes, just a list for the beginning the spellchecking may be slow, but it would be a beginning A quick search at google reveiled http://www.arabeyes.org/project.php?proj=duali an arabic spellchecker that uses a different affix-format but that could serve as a base for a myspell-compatible dictionary. Their cvs also contains a directory openoffice - maybe they're already working on integrating the spell-checker.. thanks i'll have a look Laurent -- Laurent Godard [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Ingénierie OpenOffice.org Indesko http://www.indesko.com Nuxeo CPS http://www.nuxeo.com - http://www.cps-project.org Livre Programmation OpenOffice.org, Eyrolles 2004 - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Maybe the window could be widened a little to have the whole string displayed. i'll see if i can extend this label Last but not least, if French is labeled français, Japanese should be labeled 日本語 on the first page and in the language list.
