No one is rubber stamping anything at all.

Indeed, however, Jan Pirek is one of the key people in Oracle who has
worked on NetBeans as long as I have -- and longer -- primarily on the
NetBeans website.

Indeed, the webmaster of NetBeans,org.

One of the most committed people in the world in relation to NetBeans.

However, everyone is 100% equal and Jan, just like everyone else, will need
to be voted in -- though it was a mistake on my part to not have included
him in the initial list of committers (
https://wiki.apache.org/incubator/NetBeansProposal).

I don't know who Jan Pirek is. In the past 3 years I do see him in 3 emails. In 
the past 12 years I see him in 18 emails total across all the NetBeans mailing 
lists I subscribed to.

He seems to be the NetBeans webmaster.

Is there anything he needs to do that require committer rights and can't be 
done with a PR or something?

Wouldn't it be more normal to let him contribute for a while and the invite him?

Are we just rubber stamping Oracle folks?
