Re: Ubuntu 21.04 / dark mode
Might want to check through Calc with the dark mode improvements. Seem to lose the ability to display highlighting or cell backgrounds... Be nice if this UI improvement is able to fix this. Dark mode is handled poorly, but I assuming these issues are only in UBUNTU based Linux Distributions and in Linux Mint. Otherwise Ill be having a dig into this a little later. Re: Ubuntu 21.04 / dark mode
Hi Matthias, all I just installed Ubuntu 21.04 from scratch (formatted the Pop!_OS SSD) and the default theme (Standard) does not cause AOO to switch to the High Contrast icon style. However the problem does occur if the user manually switches to the Dark Appearance. Turning off the Accessibility switch partially solves most of the problem, but there are other small glitches https://imgur.com/a/NFqJqoZ Answering your previous question: no I had not restarted. In the second image from today's Imgur you can see what it looks like with the Automatic Galaxy icons after restart. Re: Ubuntu 21.04 / dark mode
The reason is that our GTK implementation looks for theme names of an old version and then hacks the calls. And the call then calls the wrong functions. I am told 2 years ago what functions are right and which are wrong, but back then I was to carefuill and I do not find the notes 8If I did notes at all) However I think the gtk code is wrong more then that and I wanted to look into this, but always had different priorities. So never got to look deeper into the gtk code. If there is anyone who knows how GTK works and needs pointers I can search the position that needs to be fixed. Hi all, Ubuntu 21.04 is out today and it comes with a dark mode UI enabled by default. Does AOO still switch to "High Contrast" when started on a dark UI? If so, people will start to ask how to disable it in the near future. I didn't have the time to install and test, maybe someone else has updated?
