Re: [udk-dev] is there a THREAD-MODEL in URE?

2008-07-15 Thread Frank Schönheit - Sun Microsystems Germany
Hi Rainman,

sorry for the late response, have been away for the last 10 days ...

I had read that article you mentioned, but it seems a brief or draft
spec about Threading-Model in URE. and I cannot find any usage
info(e.g. a simple code) from it.would you give me any sample code of
using this Threading-Model in a uno object?

I can't ... I just pointed you to this page (actually, it's a bunch of
pages) since it's the only resource about OOo's threading model I know.
I admit I myself did not read it in deep detail, yet.

Ciao
Frank

Hi Rainman,

I noticed that there was some articles about Threading Model, and
 Threading Architecture In URE.

http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Uno/Spec/Threading-Model might
be what you're looking for.

Re: [udk-dev] Simple Bootstrap

2008-04-17 Thread Frank Schönheit - Sun Microsystems Germany
Hi Stephan,

Problem 1 could most silently be fixed by adding symbolic links for all
the URE libraries to all brand layer program directories.

That sounds *quite* ugly.

For problem 1 my opinion is to go with the same solution as for problem
2 (i.e., call the sketched ureinfo on all platforms from the C++
unoapploaders, and thus have an incompatible change in the C++
unoapploaders of all platforms). For problem 3 I am somewhat undecided
(and, out of laziness, would probably go with the fake classes/juh.jar
wart, as it would be less work to implement).

I'd say go for the clean solution in all three cases. 3.0 is a major
version, I don't see a need to sacrifice the clean solutions to
compatibility.

Re: [udk-dev] TextBox appearance in 2.4.0 RC2

2008-03-02 Thread Frank Schönheit - Sun Microsystems Germany
Hi Bernard,

I may not be on the right mailing list (there are so many!).

You aren't. Nonetheless, you caught my attention.

I have created on February, 18, the Issue 86186 where I explain that
TextBoxes with vertical scrollbars have several display anomalies.
 I still find it on 2.4.0 RC2.

I think this regression could generate complaints if 2.4.0 is released
without correction. I have provided several snapshots, it is easy to
 replicate.

I tried reproducing it, and succeeded - in all 2.4 RCs so far, and also
in 2.3 and 3.3.1. The latter means that as ugly as this issue is, it
doesn't qualify as show stopper for 2.4, sorry.

I confirmed the issue and put the 3.0 target onto it.

Note: You originally assigned this issue to MBA - assigning issues
directly to people who you *believe* are the right contact is almost
never a good idea, they will most certainly linger there without any
action, since most people do not (need to) have UNCONFIRMED issues on
their radar. You should leave the initial owner empty when submitting an
issues, this ensures it arrives at a person which *is* used to caring
for UNCONFIRMED issues (actually: whose job it is to care).

Hi Paolo,

Please, check if this one is related:
 http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=65508

It isn't: 65508 hits you only in dialogs, when your OOo is using the
desktop's native theme. bernard's issue hits you even with controls in
documents, regardless of desktop-theme usage.
