[Dev] Shouldn't we show the product theme for tenants in the standalone product

2012-10-10 Thread Amila Maha Arachchi
Hi all,

Currently, when the super tenant logs in to a product, he/she sees product
theme. But when a tenant logs in they see the cloud theme. But if the
product is running in the standalone mode, shouldn't both users see the
same product theme? IMO this can lead to several requests for patches in
the future.

If you are +1 for this AFAIK we can fix this by deciding which style we
copy to tenant's registry at the time of tenant creation. And AFAIK we can
always copy the cloud theme when we are in a cloud deployment. Shariq,
correct me if I am wrong.

WDYT?

Regards,
AmilaM.

This is due to tenant domain is null that is retrieved from CarbonContext.
 Therefore fixed by using tenant Id to get the user realm..

I do not think this is the correct fix. Because the file instrument throws
error on windows when running the tests, and the same command works fine
when executed though command line. Need to figure out whether any process
locking the jar under instrumentation. So it might take some more time to
find the correct fix for this.

Does this call should happen as a post check-item click action or a pre
check-item click action.

>

This is possible as a pre check-item click action. We can define a
validation class for check-item clicks and these classes are pluggable.
Validation classes can be configured from the lifecycle configuration.

**

**

And as a validation, we can do a service call or some other functionality.
Validations are similar to transition executors and there is an interface
that you need to implement. More information about validations can be found
in our docs[1]. Also there are a set of standard validators that we ship
with the distribution[2].

If it is not possible, can we add that functionality?

I believe validations are the solution for this problem. If the validation
fails, the check-item click will not happen.

[Dev] Attaching an external call to a check list item in LC

2012-10-10 Thread Samisa Abeysinghe
I want to do, say, some service calls, when someone ticks a ckecklist item
on an LC state.

Is that possible? If so how?

If it is not possible, can we add that functionality?

The use case is, it is required to make the tick real, for e.g. if the tick
is about - did you report time, if reporting time itself is attached to the
tick, it is more practical. If not, people will pre-tic with the post
action intent, and in reality the action associated with the tick would not
really happen.

Samisa...

Re: [Dev] Error on startup in AS 5.0.1

2012-10-10 Thread Amani Soysa
Hi Azeez

This is because TenantAwarePattern Layouts try to get the host name of the
incoming LogEvent by InetAddress.getLocalHost(). This is a Mac OSX (Oracle
java7u5) specific issue [1].
To temporary fix it, edit host files and append your host name to 127.0.0.1
loopback address:

sudo vi /etc/hosts

127.0.0.1 localhost YourHostname
255.255.255.255 broadcasthost
::1 localhost
fe80::1%lo0 localhost
192.168.1.3 loki

to set it in the first place, use:

sudo scutil --set HostName YourHostname

I will try to find an alternative approach to get the host name of the
LogEvent in order to have the hostname information in the LogEvent to avoid
this issue.

Re: [Dev] Feature manager is slow

2012-10-10 Thread Dileepa Jayakody
Hi all,

I spent some time on debugging this issue at several levels including
repositoryAdminService client & stub, localTransport and addressing.
AFAIU the root cause is at addressing level where axis2 is unable to
process the addressing headers for the addRepository request when
localTransport is enabled in AS.

In org.apache.axis2.handlers.addressing.AddressingInHandler.doInvoke() the
header blocks are extracted as below;

iterator = header.getHeadersToProcess(rolePlayer, namespace);

Initially I thought the problem is with the namespace of the headers but it
was not the case. The problem is with the soap rolePlayer. I observed in
AppServer that rolePlayer is initialized with role: *supertenant*. When
supertant is set as the SOAP role header.getHeadersToProcess(rolePlayer,
namespace) doesn't process the header blocks so the server just treats the
message as a normal message without headers and sends the response without
any addressing information. That is why the callback is not triggered when
the response comes.

In carbon 4.0.1, 4.0.2 the role is not set as supertenant, The roleplayer
is always null. I observed the same behaviour in greg-4.5.0.
So In carbon, greg this works properly regardless of localTransport is
enabled or disabled.

The roleplayer is initialized in AddressingInHandler.doInvoke() as below
using AxisConfiguration;

 if(configuration == null){
System.out.println("axis config is null creating new one..");
AxisConfiguration conf =
msgContext.getConfigurationContext().getAxisConfiguration();
rolePlayer =
(RolePlayer)conf.getParameterValue(Constants.SOAP_ROLE_PLAYER_PARAMETER);
configuration = conf;
}

Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue with soap role : supertenant ?

Thanks,
Dileepa

Re: [Dev] Tests are not running on Windows

2012-10-10 Thread Krishantha Samaraweera
Command line jar instrumentation works on Windows, this issue caused when
doing the same thing programmatically. Emma overwrite the same jar at
plugins directory after instrumenting its classes.

*$JAVA_HOME/jre/bin/java -cp emma.jar emma instr -m o**verwrite -cp <
jarlist.txt*

The issue is solved after using copy/fullcopy option instead of overwrite.
i have gone though the Emma code and found that when overwrite option is
true, it simply rename the file as below.

if (! Files.renameFile (m_tempArchiveFile, m_origArchiveFile, true)) //
overwrite the original archive

Thanks,
Krishantha.

[Dev] Server startup verification test fails in builder machine

2012-10-10 Thread Krishantha Samaraweera
ServerStartup Verification tests fails in builder machine with the
following issue. But the same test works fine on local machine. We
investigate the test failure in builder machine and found that
calling getAllSystemLogs operation from LogViewer admin service timeouts.
Setting 180 sec timeout interval to stub solved the issue. But we better
check why that operation take that much of time to response in only builder
machine.

Re: [Dev] [Blocker] Rampart handlers consuming 8% time during an invocation even if security is not engaged

2012-10-10 Thread Hasini Gunasinghe
Hi,

FYI. I have removed the changes done at Rampart level due to following
reasons:

1. It has introduced a regression issue in secure communication in ESB with
non-secured proxy --> secured service scenario as discussed in another
thread. (Issue could be overcome using send mediator in released packs, but
if send mediator is not present, the issue appears)
2. Changes at Rampart level introduced only a slight performance
improvement. (the majority of the improvement was achieved from axis2 level
change which Azeez did)

Will add the new rampart version to 4.0.2 patch release.

Thanks,
Hasini.

We set a property call "subDomain" in axis2.xml (I assume those are System
properties). If it's a management node, property's value would be "mgt".

[Dev] Prevent execution of Scheduled Tasks in Manager Node

2012-10-10 Thread Isuru Udana
Hi All,

When a synapse task is created from the manager node, the task get executed
on the manager node in addition to worker nodes.
We have to identify whether it is a manager node at the synapse level and
prevent the execution.
Is there a way to identify whether it is a manager node from the synapse
level?

System.getProperty("workerNode") can be used to identify whether it is a
worker node.
But I couldn't find a way to identify the manager node.

As a workaround for preventing execution of tasks in manager node we can
use the concept called "pinned servers" in Scheduled Tasks[1].

Related jira for this issue is located at [2].
