Re: [slim] Looking for outdoor speakers

2010-06-12 Thread aubuti

I've mostly heard bad things about wireless speakers in general:
susceptible to static, interference from other wireless devices like
cordless phones, baby monitors, etc. There may be good wireless
speakers out there, but there are a lot of bad ones.

I recently got a pair of passive Polk Atrium 45 speakers for my deck. I
connect them with outdoor-grade, direct-burial rated speaker cable that
runs back into my basement, where I have an AudioSource AMP100 and SBR.
Been working great so far.

Yes - the normal level is a parameter within Foobar and has nothing

appears to be de-emphasized within Logitech. It's extremely unlikely

Actually, far less than unlikely. There's zero chance of it.

But... most of the web skins have been developed over the years by
customers, although not many of them survive today. It's become more
common that they're dropped from the installation rather than added.
If you were to develop such a skin and were to show some sign that
you're willing to support it, then you might get it added to the
standard install.

[slim] No Internet radio menu item on Squeezebox Duet 7.5.0 r8673

I noticed just today that the Internet Radio menu was missing from my
Squeezebox Duet. I don't use the Internet Radio feature often so I
don't know when it may have gone missing.

Does anyone know how I could get it back?
If so, I would be grateful

A quick google search today found me the newest answer here
 http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=75238
saying that I should switch from mysqueezebox.com to
test.squeezeboxnet.com if one were running 7.5 beta.

I don't know how relevant that response is, since:
 1. I'm not trying out beta software
 2. I'm trying to run against a local squeezebox server, does
mysqueezebox.com or another service matter then?

Here's the version number of the SB Duet: 7.5.0 r8673

The version information for the server, is:

[slim] Easy tool to rework audio tracks

2010-06-12 Thread MCG555

Hi again - often I encounter audio tracks, that needs rework because I
simply do not like all of the track: e.g.

-fade them out earlier
-fade them in in the middle of the track

- some adanced feature would be nice like - cut something out of the
track and combine the rest again.

In earlier times I used Goldwave for it (very old version 4.23) and it
was ok, however not especially comfortable...

What do you use for such tasks?

Thanks for sharing :-)

Hm... I decided to try some rebooting to see if that would bring it
back.

And I started with the simplest one which was to turn the Duet remote
off and then back on again.

And when it came up it came up with the Internet radio menu entry.

So that was an easy fix.

It goes missing in 7.5.1 too. The duet insists on downloading new

always.

Have to say that's three fairly fundamental bugs in consecutive
releases:-

7.5.0 - Alarm fade in broken
7.5.1 - Not sure Alarm fade in is fixed. I've not had reason to use it
for the last 3 weeks but the last time I did I'm sure it still came on
at full volume
7.5.1 - Duet re-loads same version of the software every few days
7.5.1 - Internet Radio goes missing from Front Screen and Home Page

I get the same behavior with locally stored songs. The ones from

but stored on my HD, if I try to play those I only get the first few
seconds and then the audio shuts off, but Spotify keeps moving its

not when listening on the computer.

If I start such a song playing on the computer and then invoke DSBridge
it works, until I manually change song. If I just let it play it works.

Strange...
