[slim] MusicIP mix consisting of only 2-3 songs
I have now managed to update all songs with MIP information and according to the headless interface, only ~20 of 14.000 are non-mixable. However, when I try to start a MusicIP mix from a given songs, most of the time, it only shows a playlist of two to three songs, even with well-known artists/songs. Is there somewhere I can see a log of what the magicmusicmixer (internal name of MusicIP on my Ubuntu server) is doing and what information it is lacking? Thanks! Hi, I had the same phenomenon yesterday after installing a firmware upgrade to my QNAP NAS, running Squeezebox Server 7.5.3. After rebooting the NAS, it disappeared... Hope that helps you, too. Thanks for your help - yes, I checked the songs. Today morning I found the quite simple solution - I just rebooted my QNAP NAS, running the Squeezebox server, and everything seems to be OK again. [slim] Need help troubleshooting alarm
I've got a Squeezebox Radio that won't consistently play the playlists I ask it play as an alarm, and it instead reverts to the backup alarm. Network signal strength is 90% or greater. I also have a Classic that is mostly rock-solid regarding alarms. Any ideas how I can track down the cause? I've never messed with logging etc., but am open to ideas. IIRC the SBS server broadcasts a message telling the client the IP address of the server. I can't remember if the server uses broadcast or multicast but often the problem is the firewall is set up to open a port but at the same time block broadcast/multicast on the port. First check firewall if you can enable logging of all packets/ message that are blocked/discarded and then look at firewall log. I then go Buy Now but it tells me that You can't purchase this item with this account. Have I done something wrong? I did buy Ipeng for Ipgone on my wife's account and Ipeng for Ipad on my account. Could this be the problem? An idea would be to have a drag and drop sync, where you under the volume control could drag a player and drop it onto another, to sync them. Hi magnus, I'm not sure yet about a release date of a next feature version of SqueezePad. I had to reduce my work on SqueezePad a bit to accommodate to the needs of my family (doing night shifts all the time along my regular job didn't get me much love), so no further work has been done yet, sorry :( Right now there is just a bugfix-update which makes SqueezePad compatible to the latest Beta versions of SqueezeboxServer. Having said that: I'm planning to start work on new features soon. Due to popular demand right now on my road map is a portrait mode and a way to present bigger album art. Just looked into the poll (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83106page=9highlight=squeezepad) and it looks that synchronization now has one more vote than the big cover arts. So I might change my mind again when portrait mode is ready. I just added my vote as well! Someone once told me that a nice job is very hard to find... but a you can allways find a new family! ;o) I know that family is important and that they should allways be priority 1. I appreciate all the good work that you are putting into this app. I would not hesitate to buy this app again! Hope that you feel that it is worth putting your time on this development. [slim] Rhapsody Playback Error on SqueezePlay
I have a SqueezeRadio and a htpc running squeezeserver. I just signed up for the trial to Rhapsody. It plays fine on the SR, but when I try to play it via either the squeezeslave or squeezeplay client on the htpc, I get an error stating: Please select a Squeezebox 2, 3, or Transporter to use Rhapsody. It works fine if I just play Rhapsody on the SR. [slim] SB3 Loops in reset
My SP3 has given me sterling service since I bought it a few years ago, but it seems to have developed a fault that I hope is not terminal. I had it hooked up to wi-fi, working fine for months and months. Then, a few weeks back, it would just stop in the middle of a song and then carry on. It got worse and it started resetting at random times. I dropped back to a wired connection - no difference in behaviour. I swapped it out for another SB3 and that worked impeccably on the same PSU and Cat5. Put the original SB3 on the PSU of the other working SB3 and now it just cycles through the SqueezeBox banner, then blank, then banner again ad infinitum. I've tried resetting to factory defaults by holding down the ADD key whilst applying power, but all I see is the banner message struggling to scroll across the screen. Any ideas about where to go from here would be great. 1. Fix it. 2. Bin it, buy new equivalent from Amazon £185 :-( 3. Find someone who can fix it, economically. 4. ? If you are not afraid to do a little electronic surgery you can try opening the SB3 and removing the WiFi card. Removing it has helped solve such oddball behavior in the past. If the WiFi card is dead or even flaky it can cause general connection issues even when using ethernet. Well, it was worth a try. :) Couple of other last ditch ideas: - did you actually go through the Setup screen to choose wired? Simply plugging in an ethernet cable does not make it wired. Assuming it will even allow you into the Setup screen (press hold left arrow). - try a Xilinx reset, though this is really just for audio issues and settings I believe. Ok, what it does is to display the Logitech logo, then scrolls in the SQUEEZEBOX splash screen, then it goes blank and repeats the same cycle about 6 seconds later. If I hold down any key during power-on, you can see the display struggling to do the same cycle, but the key-presses obviously slows it to crawl. No reset, nada. I've had it over 2 years, probably over 3. [slim] 2 Simultaneous SB streams
I just ordered a 2 TB Vortexbox Appliance. I will be connecting it to a SB Classic which will in turn be connected to an Integra DTR 40.2 receiver. I have multiple zones connected to the DTR 40.2. The DTR 40.2 is capable of using 2 different sources to 2 different zones simultaneously. My question is: How do I access 2 different SB streams at the same time? Is this only possible by connecting 2 SBs to the reciever (I do have 2 SB Classics)?
