What does the popup/tooltip say when you hover the mouse over the + icon on the left side? [slim] Fubar IV DAC...Sound via USB? How?
Hi This is not directly a squeezebox question but I wonder if anyone can help? Just got the nice Fubar IV DAC/headphone amp but on my main PC having trouble. I am trying to listen to music via usb from a new computer running windows 7 and get no sound. Everything is ok from my laptop so I know the Fubar DAC/headphone amp is working fine. When I connect it, it appears under windows sound devices and the virtual volume indicator is moving (under sound settings). Makes no difference if I unplug the audio out via analogue headphone sockets. I have tried all the other USB ports. The option to make the USB sound as default is greyed out. As I said when I plug into a laptop with windows7 everything is great. any ideas? I'll check in the bios to see if anything is amiss. If you're listening to a track which fits a playlist it makes no sense to start the playlist, then lookup the track again, add it and save the playlist again. It would be nice to have an option to add a currently playing track to a playlist and (optionally) save it immediatly. If not then I doubt it would work with SqueezePlayer. I could image this might work with bluetooth, but this is totally up to Android and your Phone. Sorry to be a wet blanket, but I can't get this to work at all! Am using Squeezecommander with Squeezeplayer. Am using Touch as my SB Server; I don't have a dedicated PC for that. I didn't see where that would be a problem as described in the Market. My Squeezecommander (SC) is controlling the SqueezeboxTouch (ST); I can hear it playing through my stereo in the house. - The Squeezeplayer (SP) has registered itself with the ST. - The SP screen shows Playback is on (green), Start App (which works fine), the server IP, WiFi connected, but Playback stopped. No matter what I do, I cant' change the status of Playback. When I turn Playback off, the Connection status goes to disconnected. The Notification bar shows Squeezeplayer, playback is activated. Basically, everything seems right except the Playback status, and the fact that I'm not getting any sound whatsoever. I'm not going to return it to the Market because I think we'll get this figured out, and I've been looking for this app for a long time. Thanks! Hi Dave, from what you write SqueezePlayer is setup correctly. When it says 'connected' but 'playback stopped' it's waiting to receive a stream. You need to start SqueezeCommander then and you will see your Samsung (along with the Touch) in the players list (one swipe to the right typically gets you to the servers + players list in SqueezeCommander). Does this work? Then select the Samsung and like with a Touch you should be able to start a song. When I go to the players list and select Touch, I then hit Play and I hear music playing in the house, and the playback-progress indicator moves as it should. When I select Samsung SCH-1500 in the players list, then hit the Play button, I get the little Play icon in the center of the screen for a second, it goes away, but the playback-progress bar at the top does not move. NEWS! After I typed the above I tried a different song and it started playing. The song I was trying to play earlier (which wouldn't play) was an iTunes purchase/download. The next song I tried was just an MP3 rip. Wow. Ok, it's humming along just fine now. Everything seems to work very well -- but no sound on my Droid X. All the screens are there, play and stop work, the Droid X is identified as a player. No sound on favorites or local media, although everything appears normal. I must be doing something wrong but can't figure it out. Music files stored on the phone work fine. The Touch unfortunately does not have enough power to transcode that and SqueezePlayer cannot play mp4 natively. Only a full Squeezebox-Server would be able to stream your iTunes music to SqueezePlayer. Hi again, The browser I'm using is Firefox 4.0 (I get the same results on IE. The SB that I have is the Squeezebox Wi-Fi radio (model x-R0001). There is a pulldown that shows 2 names 1-mysqueezebox 2-mysqueezebox.com (tried them both) When I hover over the + icon it says Add to Current Playlist - When I click, I get a momentary Hourglass, then nothing. I doesn't go to the right pane. When I refresh the page, the left pane goes up one level. Nothing on the right side. SBS ver. = Version: 7.5.4 - r32171 @ Thu Apr 14 09:19:34 PDT 2011 Also, the right pane is blank. The top of the right pane shows a record icon, volume control, etc. One thing I noticed: server Settings - player says Your player was not found. Right now, as I am attempting to do a playlist, my squeezebox is running on wireless and my SBS is not connected to it. Should it be to create a playlist? Your blog has been down with a database error for several days now.
I'd like to suggest a small change to custom-convert.conf so that the
wave input plugin is still usable for other audio input devices.
Instead of hard coding the named pipe path in the config file change it
to $FILE$ and then use the named pipe path in the airplay favourite in
SBS. You need to remove the alsa, prefix and define it in as part of
the favourite for other audio devices.
Here an example from my custom convert. Note it's for 7.3.4 as I no
longer have the original file from your site.

To connect to airplay define the favourite like this, changing the
named pipe full path to match your setup.

On the radio menu itself, select my music and then it should offer you the menu item to connect to your SbS running on your computer. The first percentage is the audio buffer = if it's at 0% then there is no more to play and SqueezePlayer will make a short pause to rebuffer. The second percentage is the download buffer = if it's at 0% the mp3 decoder doesn't have new data to decode, so the first buffer will soon go down as well, as there's is nothing to fill it again. As you say the second percentage goes down first, this means that SqueezePlayer is not able to download enough data fast enough. Either your network is not fast enough or your server has problems sending out enough data. You are using WiFi, do you? [slim] Music for parties
I've found that if i make a playlist using ipeng then I can create a playing and add songs and it works great. However sometimes I'll accidentily choose play song and overwrite the playlist I've just spent hours making. I'm having a BBQ tomorrow and want to make a playlist but I'd also like to allow people to add some themselves in a jukebox style way. Is there a way a can do this with squeezebox server? You'll just have to stress that people use the + button. Your playlist won't be overwritten if they are using the webUI. They would have to save it to overwrite it..
