Re: [slim] Honeycomb Android App for Squeezebox

Why don't you contact the author and ask him to fix the issue? I also get crashes with squeezebox commander on my acer a500 (also a honycomb tablet). It does seens screen related. I only get them in landscape mode. If holding the tablet in portrait i does not crash. On a viewsonic viewpad 7 i can use it without a crash in landscape mode (androit 2.2 tablet). The logitech app works fine on my acer honycomb tablet. On my other android devices i do not use it because it is slow. But the faster prosessor in the acer makes the app usable. And works fine in landscape mode (squeezebox commander does not) needed to use it with my docking station. [slim] Now Playing: Nothing
Hi everyone, My controllers (I have 3) all suddenly stopped displaying information and showing Album Art in the Now Playing window. I can browse my library, select CD's and tracks, and play them. They play just fine, and the volume/pause buttons work fine, but the Now Playing window only show the text; Current Playlist Nothing This used to work fine for many years. Any ideas anyone? Re: [slim] Honeycomb Android App for Squeezebox
I have an ASUS Transformer too. *SqueezeCommander* Is the most powerful and feature packed. But its not very tablet friendly. In fact i wrote the developer an email about this just yesterday! *An alternate solution* (which i use quite happily at the moment) 1) Download another browser (Dolphin HD in my case). This will be your new squeezbox tablet app ;) 2) Set homepage to your squeeze server IP : port 3) In the browser settings, go fullscreen. It will remember this and never show you the address bar even the next time you open the browser, giving you an app feel and more screen real estate. 4) Download the tablet skin from here : simulacrum .net.nz/squeeze/ 5) In your squeezeplayer settings interface skin tablet skin 6) Open dolphin HD, click albums, change the view (top right) to show album art Thats it! Now when you view albums you see a nice wall of CD covers. Its really a nice interface, especially on the tablet. I'd post a screenshot, but this is my first post and its not letting me! cya R -- Rehaan Rehaan's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=48067 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88591 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Baby Monitor impacting wireless network?
Hi all Slightly off my original topic but still wireless related. Just returned from holiday and switched power back on, noticed problems with wireless for smartphones and also my SB boom which is probably furthest away from router, rebuffering and losing connection to server. I wondered whether a Nintendo Wii which also connects wirelessly might impact, sure enough once I disconnected then wireless strength improved, no devices having connection issues and SB server working well. As per the original topic then this might improve performance when the monitor is on, perhaps the Wii was flooding the router or something Ian Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk -- socistep socistep's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18860 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88411 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Please post on the 3rd party plugin forum in the thread about the Spotify plugin. Please include details of any messages in the server log and check that your firewall on the server machine allows the spotifyd.exe helper application accept incomming connections (this is the usual problem). The official logitech Spotify support can't support older players as it is built into the firmware of the players. -- Triode Triode's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88683 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I've had a similar problem lately, which was due to an incorrect setting on one of our proxy servers. But, if I understand the SQ protocol correctly, I can imagine a couple of problems which could cause this: IF the radio station required the SBS to transcode for the player, THEN if the computer running SBS (not SBS itself, but the underlying computer software system, such as Windows, or Linux) did not have a 'gateway' to the internet (there's a network field for this), or did not use a working DNS server (there's a network field for this, as well), then I think you would find that those radio stations would not play. If the SBS was set to use a proxy server (Advanced, Network, Proxy) AND the proxy server either did not have a gateway to the internet, or did not have a correct DNS server entry (that is what happened to me recently after a power outage upset the proxy server here), then I think you would find that no radio stations would play. There may well be other possible reasons. If you can, (a) check the Gateway, and DNS settings on the computer running SBS, and even check whether it can reach the internet for browsing, etc (although that's not a perfect test because browsers can be set up to use a proxy which bypasses the gateway setting anyway). (b) check whether SBS is set up to use a proxy and, if so, check whether the Gateway and DNS settings are correct on the proxy server [ignore this if SBS is not using a proxy server]. (c) if browsing works, check if the browser is using a proxy server because, if it is, SBS may need to do so, as well. regards, Atlantic -- Atlantic Atlantic's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44239 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88698 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Vortexbox + iPeng + Duet freezes between songs
Hi Roy, Thanks for the reply. I am not trying to sync the ipeng player with the vortexbox player. Here is my setup. Server: VortexBox SqueezeBox Server Clients: iPeng IPhone App and SqueezeBox Duet I disabled the vortexbox player for good measure. Both the Duet and the iPeng iphone app have no issue when running independently. Just together. So maybe it is as you say that there is an issue syncing the IPeng software player with the Duet hardware. It's kind of a bummer because the only added benefit of the Duet is the optical out, because the Duet's remote doesn't compare to the iPeng interface (although the Duet remote is nice for guests who just want to turn up/down the volume or skip to the next song). I still think there must be a way to trouble shoot. I checked the server logs and they are empty, but I don't see where I can change the log settings (to verbose or something of the like). -Jammy -- jammypac jammypac's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=47642 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88387 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
