[slim] Windows Phone 7.5 support ?

When it pauses randomly it could either be because of buffering issues (you could observe that on the main page of SqueezePad - if the numbers drop to 0 all the time, it's buffering and you should check your WiFi) or because your mobile just does not have a good clock (so that SqueezePlayer tries to catch up all the time). As a test I'd always suggest to start 'small', i.e. just sync it to one Radio (and leave the others off) and see how it works, then slowly adding the other Radios. Only in the end you should add SqueezeSlave because this is the one that (as a third party tool) also imposes the biggest risk to other devices. -- bluegaspode Did you know: *'SqueezePlayer' (www.squeezeplayer.com)* will stream all your music to your Android device. Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Music-Playback now on ANDROID! SqueezePlayer released to the market ...
I just purchased two Squeezebox radios today and got them all setup and synced with a home server for playback. So I purchased your app and synced it up with the radios. But the app on my Galaxy S2 pauses randomly and is always out of sync by more than a second, sometimes more like 5-10 seconds! This is with mp3s from my local network and with Pandora both. The two radios and my Linux server (with squeezeslave) all seem fine staying in sync and playing the same mp3s and Pandora. What should I try to fix your Android SqueezePlayer? It's not just the fragmentation of administration but more importantly also of legislation. In Germany, for example, you have Gema as a centralized institution to manage author's claims and which claims prices that are around 5 times what services like Spotify pay to artists - and that's on top of what artists get. Then in Germany, especially France but probably some other countries, too, you have "local content" rules that demand that a certain percentage of your catalog or of what you are actually streaming is from rights holders out of these countries which are ridiculously high, and so on -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote and *New: iPeng for iPad*, at penguinlovesmusic.com pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=90703 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Refresh iTunes library?
After years of resistance, my new car really only supports IPod as a usable music storage device so I gave in and bought an iPod and installed iTunes. Ugh! It kinda works - I imported my music directory into iTunes library without actually having to import the music, and then used iTunes to sync to the iPod. I would never use iTunes to manage my real library, but have just re-organised a load of directories and tags - generally moved stuff around and renamed a lot of tracks as a result of cleaning tags. The problem now is that although I can re-run "add folder to library" - all that does is add new entries for the revised file names - there appears to be no way to remove library entries for file names that no longer exist! I'm looking for an iTunes equivalent of MIP's "refresh tracks" function. There appear to be a few tools out there - what do people recommend for this? My music is all backed up but I am concerned that if I (for example) removed the library entries then iTunes will physically delete music also. I have 30k tracks - doing this manually is not an option. -- yeomanspc yeomanspc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=249 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91976 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

If you take the example of Pandora, its subscription revenue is peanuts. Most of what it gets is from advertising. But I guess Google demonstrates there's nothing wrong with that, so long as what Pandora gets continues to grow. Personally, I think, the subscription model is DOA. Very true and definitely a consideration. Though, on the other hand, at $5 to $10 a month giving me access to millions of songs is very reasonable to me. They stop the service I stop paying. Or, I choose a different service from time to time for variety and a change.
