[slim] Sirius XM App - can't get to work
I have a trial sub to SiriusXM internet streaming. I installed the SBox app and entered my trial sub username and password. The App installed fine, but I can't get the app to work. One of two things happens: on the Player Screen (touch, SPlay, SB3, etc) the song info shows and the player pretends it's playing -- no sound, tho. Or, #2, the player screen shows an error message, such as: "Unable to retrieve channel info, Unrecognized error code, BEAD 110B" By continuing to press "Play" I can also generate other error messages on the screen, which I haven't tried to write down yet. The Trial user/password info I received works fine on the computer player for Sirius and also works perfectly in the Ipad App for SiriusXM. I am up to date with SBox updates for the players and the Server. Has anyone with a recent Trial Subscription had this problem and solved it? (Of course SiriusXM's Support Advice offered numerous excuses, but none had anything whatsoever to do with my actual problem) Thanks for any help. -- pbroughton phb (1.5 Booms,2 SB3,1 Rec, 2 Controllers, touch, iPeng, 2 SoundBridge R1000s) pbroughton's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30993 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92852 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

ACK!! And the first response gets a tip of the ol' phred hat. Thanks Muggy!! That did the trick. Now I guess the follow up question is how often will I have to do this? Granted - it took about a second, but should I have to do this every time I want to use SC? Should this be happening at all? Thanks again. -- phred phred's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=52602 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69352 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I couldn't find Haarlem in the World -> Europe -> Netherlands menu. So I search for "radio 538" and all 8 search results play fine in SqueezePad. Also the four results called "Fresh FM" that I could find via the search. Did you already think about doing a fresh install of your server (and deleting all preferences that might be saved somewhere on your system). Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Music-Playback now on ANDROID! SqueezePlayer released to the market ...
Hi Johnd206, connections to mysqueezebox.com are not officially supported. The App description clearly states that a local server is needed. You will get into trouble from time to time when not using a local server. Don't hesitate to ask for a refund (via supp...@squeezeplayer.com) if unsatisfied with the incoveniences you will probably face. -- bluegaspode Did you know: *'SqueezePlayer' (www.squeezeplayer.com)* will stream all your music to your Android device. Re: [slim] No standby because of permanent WOL?
Thanks for the quick reply. I already reviewed the settings of the network card. Wake-on-Pattern-match is disabled, Wake on Magic Package is activated, so I don't know which settings could be responsible. I think I will go for the ServerPowerControl plugin. Sounds like it could a good solution. If anybody has some recommendations for settings on my WHS I would be happy to check them out. -- mhoffman mhoffman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=53118 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92843 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] No standby because of permanent WOL?
The SBs do not send out WOL packets constantly. This is easily verified with a network monitoring tool such as Wireshark. Is it possible that your server is mistakenly set up to wake up on _any_ network traffic, not only WOL packets? Many computers do have both options. The Touch and Radio are more self-contained than older SBs and don't depend on the server as much. But they do generate some network traffic, most notably looking for a server when they can't find one (which is why switching to mysqueezebox.com works). Finally, you shouldn't need to switch to mysqueezebox.com when shutting down the boxes, but it isn't really inconvenient. In fact, with the ServerPowerControl plugin the server will do it for you, without you lifting a finger. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92843 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] No standby because of permanent WOL?
Hi, I run my LMS on a WHS 2011. When at least one Squeezebox (Radio or Touch) is active (not playing, but showing the clock) it won't let my WHS go into standby. To be more precise it comes out of standby after a few seconds. If I disconnect all Squeezeboxes from the network standby works fine. That's why I assume that every box sends WOL packages constantly. I read in this forum that this can be solved when connecting to mysqueezebox.com before shutting down the boxes, but this is not very convenient. Is there a better way to solve this issue? Re: [slim] SB3 constantly dropping connection
Interesting. SB totally refused to connect to server earlier today. Not even power-cycling would fix it. That's never happened before. In the end I decided to restart the server. Before I did so, I double-checked that it was still running with HIGH priority. It did not. Perhaps the server had fallen over some time and restarted? Anyway, reset the priority back to HIGH and the SB immediately connected. There is something going on. QUESTION: Could anyone advise where I might change a startup script etc to run the Squeezeserver on HIGH priority, such that it covers all (or most) startup options (like Start Menu, Taskbar, Squeeze Console, startup, ...)? Re: [slim] SB3 constantly dropping connection
It gets goofier still. While the Nintendo Wii is perfectly happy streaming video all the while the SB is saying "Can't connect", the PS3 actually drops its connection to PSN. How can this be? (Wii, PS3 and SB all connect to the same switch which hooks up to the WLAN via the SB's bridge.) The only weird thing about the Wii is that it will not drive our LAN adaptor as a "wireline connection" but we can only make it work as a "ireless connection". So the Wii ends up talking 802.11 over the CAT5 wire. Whereas we told the PS3 to disable its WLAN adaptor so it will be talking genuine 802.3. But why does any of this matter? -- ovonrein ovonrein's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2130 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85778 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Announce: Whitebear Media Server v2.2 Released
Hi )p(, I discovered that your progress bar issue is a symptom of a bigger problem... In general Squeezebox Server needs to know a track's duration before it can show a progress bar; and it needs to know the track's size before it can support seeking. In prior versions of Squeezebox Server (v7.6.x and earlier), if an external stream server provided an Http Content-Length header value, plus either an "icy-br" or an "x-audicast-bitrate" header value, then Squeezebox Server could calculate the duration (content length divided by bitrate), and it would also turn on support for the seek function. Unfortunately in Squeezebox Server v7.7 (aka LMS) the developers broke these mechanisms... 1) The developers changed the way Squeezebox Server handles "icy-br" and "x-audicast-bitrate" header values: In the past these always meant *kilo* bits per second, but now SBS "intelligently" interprets low values as before as kilo bits per second, but it interprets values above 1000 as bits per second. => This breaks Whitebear's older code. But admittedly it is easily fixed by having Whitebear check the SBS/LMS version number to conditionally determine what value it shall provide in its "icy-br" or "x-audicast-bitrate" headers. Yuckk! 2) The developers changed the way Squeezebox Server determines if a stream is seekable. Previously a stream was deemed seekable if Squeezebox Server had values for two out three of the variables length, duration, bitrate. However now, from v7.7 onwards, they use a different mechanism to determine if a stream is seekable. => This means that remote streams served by Whitebear, (or indeed remote Http streams served by other servers) are no longer seekable. Unfortunately I could not (yet) find a work around for this. IMHO breaking working code in such a way, is not very friendly towards the external developer community... -- AndrewFG Regards, AndrewFG Try out Whitebear.
