Re: [slim] Mini Boombox - audio quality
SuperQ wrote: The squeezebox boom audio quality is very good. Agreed - exceptionally good for a product of this type, in my experience. Many on this forum speak of the good sound quality of the SBR, but I'm afraid it pales alongside the Boom. There were threads about a 'Boom II' wishlist IIRC - something like the Radio with the Boom's stereo drivers and attention to sound quality should have grabbed a huge slice of the market. chill's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10839 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97494 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] ANN: Orange Squeeze 1.3.0 released!
Hi; when I used Orange Squeeze, I had the problem that in the pop-up windows, no text was visible. (When I tapped on the area of the non-visible Text, the related funktion was activated. So it is really only the text that is missing...) What do I mean by pop-up w? For example in the Player menue: When I tab on the little triangle on the right side for one of the players, a context menue pops up (the pop up window). That window has a head line listing the player ('On: xyz-Playername') and underneath there are lines, subdividing tasks - but no text is visible for me. But when I tab the 1st, the synchronize options appear (with all text visible). On the last line, a faint small 'zzz' is visible - no further text, leading to the snooze option Note: I am running OZ on an e-ink (bw) device - a rooted BarnesNoble Nook Touch running Android 2.1. Is there a way to fix this? Heiner Hi db122; any chance to work on this? I checked the 2 themes you provided, but the issue is present on both of them.. Anyway I can help? (Although I am a quite ignorant user / non-programmer...) Re: [slim] Ipeng for iPad Christmas version crashing
I'm sorry, but we seem to have a problem with the international version of this build. Will try to get it corrected as soon as possible. As a workaround, it helps to set your iPad to English. If you then open all the automatic help screens at least once (the ones under Help-gt;Quick Tutorials) you can then switch the iPad back to your native language as long as you don't open the Help screen. I'll try to get an update to the store ASAP but this being a weekend it's probably going to be at least Tuesday for that. Re: [slim] Control SlimServer _from_ iTunes
This is probably not of the most general interest these days, but it is useful to me. I tried the script of Alex Schroeder, but it did not run for me (on OS X Lion, LMS 7.7 iTunes 10.7). I got it to run by changing the path specification from file_id URL to POSIX path. I also had to restore code from Brad Mohr's earlier script for translating the POSIX path into escaped form. I also put in the possibility of specifying the player rather than controlling only the default player. I have tested it a few times, also running it from the iTunes script menu, and specifying different players. Seems to work OK now. I won't be able to help with details of its operation as I don't actually understand anything about applescript programming! Re: [slim] iPeng, your iPhone Squeezebox Remote, gets even better with version 2.0!
Pippin, Have you ever considered doing a PC player? Squeezeplay is fine, but it has its limitations (doesn't do 24/96) and is beta software. Seems to me, with your knowlage and coding experience, you could make the ultiamate PC playback app - especially now that the hardware is no longer produced. It would be a great way of continuing to use your superb remote even after the hardware has gone. I'd be more than happy to pay a good few quid for such a player. :) ReValveiT's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=55767 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96749 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Do any Squeezeplayers actually have the horsepower to play 192/24 remote streams?
Sorry to bump this thread but can I assume from this that Whitebear will soon be getting support for 24/96 files? Perhaps I set things up wrongly but HD files always downsample for me. If an upgrade is in the future that would be very good news indeed. Re: [slim] Announcing SqueezePad - the first dedicated iPad App to controll your SqueezeBoxen !
I have been a Squeezepad user for a while, and also recently downloaded IPeng to compare. The browser capabality in IPeng that lets you start playing from the embedded browser is pretty nice, but I find the browser to be really slow - many seconds per page to navigate around (at least on my original iPad) For Squeezepad, if I could just use the regular Safari browser, as long as I could copy a URL if I see it, then paste it into Squeezepad with the standard Play, Play Next, Add to End options. However, I can't find any such option. Am I missing it? It seems likely would be easy enough. Of course, some sort of embedded browser, especially if it worked like the exfm plugin for Chrome, where as you go to pages, you get a list of all links on the page and can add them to a playlist. In any case, it's the one thing so far that I'd love in Squeezepad. Besides that, still edges out IPeng so far in trying out both. --erik talvola's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19983 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80553 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
