Re: [slim] Jivelite for Windows
andy_c wrote: After further testing, I've found that the situation described in step 4 above (elapsed time / status showing only elapsed time, with no slider and no remaining time) only occurs on the first song of the newly-created now playing list after clearing the previous now playing list. When the second song of the newly-created list plays, some kind of refresh occurs and the correct elapsed time / remaining time / slider is once again displayed. I have slider issues with jivelite on all OS versions I use, the slider quite often gets out of sync, just playing an album picked from the gui. My workaround is to cycle through repeat or shuffle modes back to the original state. As soon as you press either key the first time, the slider resets to what it should be. If someone would like to track it down and provide a patch, I'll build a new windows version. gregklanderman wrote: Thank you Mnyb, that might work because I don't think it would be a problem to have some delay as the rooms are substantially separated. I'll look into it.. is the buffer really that long (30 sec)? Greg Yes it is about 30s and possibly longer if the audio is more compressed it can probably be less than 30s with WAV I think the 30s approximation is for flac of CD resolution . The squeezebox control bypasses the buffer so play pause etc are instant to you , but the buffer is there to ensure stability due to network isssues and sound quality ( it's just like the file was there in the squeezebox itself ,feeding the output ). But with the WAV input plugin you get a second player feeding the squeezebox system and you notice how big the buffer is . You can try this. If you have an Ethernet connected squeezebox , in the middle of a song pull out the cable and wait . I never used WAV in plugin but it has the possibility to route any sound on the computer to the LMS server . It's seems a bit fiddly to set up ,but it also seems flexible and can probably do what you want . Re: [slim] how to stream TV/DVD audio to squeeze players around the house?
bpa wrote: Not quite true. The delay depends on you LMS server and how it processes input an can be as short as a few secs. The player buffer is big but is not entirely filled when using WAVIN. The buffer is entirely filled when playing from files but when playing from streams (e.g. live radio) there is a time threshold which once filled LMS will start playing even if player buffer is not filled - this lower threshold is set by WebUI Settings/Advanced/Network/ Radio Station Buffer Seconds. The WAVIN plugin mimics a radio stream. If you have a SB3/SB classic player there is a screen display setting which lets you see the buffer fullness. An alterntaive to investigate would be if your DVD player is network and DLNA enabled. Another simpler possibility would be to use something like VLC to process on a PC (e.g. non LMS) the audio from DVD and convert it into a http MP3 stream and then play the http on your LMS system. This has the advantage the DVD player does not have to be close to the LMS server. Re: [slim] Is this the Boom Mk2 that Logitech should have made ?
Just placed an order on Amazon. I will review it when its arrives. I will be using it to replace my Archos Home connect http://store.archos.com/archos-home-connect-p-5027.htm?id=5027 I have been using as my bedroom clock for the past few years. I use tune in, podcast player, and squeezeplayer on it now, and I am hoping for the same setup on the Avy. The downside of the Archos are the small screen, limited app compatibility, and difficult to use touchscreen, so I am looking forward to the upgrade. The units arrives Thursday. malaugh's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17610 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103810 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

As was previously mentioned the bass response isn't too great. After all the Boom cost 2-3 times as much. I haven't tried syncing yet. The TuneIn app on the Play store says that it's incompatible with the Avy when I last checked. Re: [slim] Strange problem with SB Classic
But a voltmeter draws no current , to really measure you must open the case and measure the voltage while the power supply is connected to the SB . The voltage while loaded is the most interesting one . Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub.
