Re: [slim] SB1 changed its MAC address
Well, I got it to go into setup mode - I'm not sure if disconnecting my desktop computer from the net or +Power finally worked. It powered on and asked the usual network questions. I didn't see anything that led me to believe it actually did a reset. No blinking or anything on the display. In any case, I still couldn't get net-udap to connect, and no amount of futzing has led to a reset of the MAC address. And I can't find a way to edit it. I am actually using a new power supply, because I thought that my help my SB Classic that died (I can see a red light through the optical port and that's it). A new power supply did not help the SB Classic, and does not seem to make any difference on this SB1. Oh well, I guess I'm stuck until I can buy another SB Classic. Thanks for the advice, cheers. Re: [slim] Advice Please - FLAC to MP3
In foobar2000's converter "Destination" settings you can tell it to write new files to "Source track folder". You want new RG tags calculated after conversion as they will likely not be the same. All other tags copy over. In dbpoweramp, I can point and click, not copy over flac files at all, just convert them all to mp3. And everything moves over, including replaygain tags. (RG tags are easy anyhow, as you can use foobar2000 to re-add RG tags when done if you needed them. In my own case, I have dbpa recalc the RG tags for my mp3 files at the same time it does the conversion. *Home:* VortexBox 4TB (2.4) > LMS 7.9.1 > Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio (all ethernet) *Cottage:* VBA 3TB (2.4) > LMS 7.9.1 > Touch > Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio) *Office:* Win8(64) > LMS 7.9.1 > Squeezelite *Spares:* Transporter, Touch(3), Radio(3), Boom, SB3, CONTROLLER *Controllers:* iPhone6 & iPadAir2 (iPeng & Squeezepad), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win10(64) laptop *Files:* ripping: dbpoweramp > FLAC; post-rip: mp3tag, PerfectTunes; Streaming: Spotify garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105561 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

thanks gary. It appears that there is a way to do it. I sometimes use Switch Sound File Converter which let's me convert and select out to same folder-it's just slow. It appears that niether it nor foobar retains replaygain tags. I may need to redo those. It appears that I may need to do this in batches-I ran a 10 folder sample w FreeFileSync. Using that as a sample it would take about 16 hrs. to mirror my folders to a new drive and then lord knows how long to do the conversion. dasmueller's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38035 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105561 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I run it on Linux too. Guess I need to try 7.9.1 and see if that kills any dependency on mysb.com Thanks for the reply. ... Thanks for your input I know there's a way for foobar2000 to retain the same folder structure for the converted mp3 files. But I don't know the specific settings. I use dbpoweramp for converting to mp3. I just found this thread. didn't read it all, but it may answer your question. https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,81768.0.html *Home:* VortexBox 4TB (2.4) > LMS 7.9.1 > Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio (all ethernet) *Cottage:* VBA 3TB (2.4) > LMS 7.9.1 > Touch > Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio) *Office:* Win8(64) > LMS 7.9.1 > Squeezelite *Spares:* Transporter, Touch(3), Radio(3), Boom, SB3, CONTROLLER *Controllers:* iPhone6 & iPadAir2 (iPeng & Squeezepad), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win10(64) laptop *Files:* ripping: dbpoweramp > FLAC; post-rip: mp3tag, PerfectTunes; Streaming: Spotify garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105561 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Advice Please - FLAC to MP3
Played around this morning converting copies of FLAC files to Mp3 using Foobar-about 8 folders. I like the fact that it retains tags. What I did not like is that it converted the files but did not put the converted files in the original folders which is what I want to happen. Am I missing a setting ? I would also like the original files to be deleted is there a setting for that ? But you don't need mysb.com to use Spotty? I run LMS on a RPi, with "--nomysqueezebox.com", and Spotty works without problem. Yes, I took out another 3 months for the price of one (£9.99) Spotify subscription. :) 24152 +---+ |Filename: pic05-12-2017-09.50.24.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=24152| +---+ *Study/Server - LMS 7.9.1 - *Raspberry Pi3/Pi screen/HiFiBerry DAC+/piCorePlayer 3.22/jivelite, 25K library on WDMyCloud, cache and playlists on a USB stick (formatted ntfs). *Lounge* - RPi 2/Max2Play > HiFiBerry DIGI+ > AudioEngine DAC1 > AVI DM5 *Dining Room* - Boom *Garage* - Radio *In car* - LMS 7.9.1 > RPi3/Max2Play/Access Point plugin > HiFiBerry DAC+ > car's hifi (files on a 2TB portable USB drive) *Spares* - 1xTouch, 1xSB3 kidstypike's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10436 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108320 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I was trying to run LMS without any link to mysb.com. As soon as I provided mysb.com credentials Spotty re-appeared in the application list. What happens if mysb.com shuts down one of these days?
