I agree with this comment! :) There are 8-9 pages of people trying to help resolve your problem. That is a dedicated community. Now that piCoreplayer (PcP) is working, I recommend you do a SD card backup! That way if something happens, you can restore to working image of the SD card instead of reinstalling PcP . All you would have to do is step 1, except instead of using the image downloaded from the PcP website, use the image created by the backup. I am at work at the moment, so I cannot provide a screen shot, but I am certain it is on the main PcP page. You will want to make sure the back is saved to an external USB flash or hard drive. On the device, on a webbrowser, enter: 192.168.1.100:9000/material but replace "192.168.1.100" with the IP address of the rPi itself. *Home:* Pi4B-8GB/pCP8.x/4TB>LMS 8.1.x>Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio (all ethernet) *Cottage:* rPi4B-4GB/pCP7.x/4TB>LMS 8.1.x>Touch>Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (Radio WIFI) *Office:* Win10(64)>foobar2000 *The Wild: *rPi3B+/pCP7.x/4TB>LMS 8.1.x>hifiberry Dac+Pro (LMS & Squeezelite) *Controllers:* iPhone11 & iPadAir3 (iPeng), CONTROLLER, Material Skin, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win10(64) *Files:* -Ripping-: dBpoweramp > FLAC; -Post-rip-: mp3tag, PerfectTunes, TuneFusion; -Streaming:- Spotify garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114796 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I think I should get accustomed to it, play with it for a couple days -- it should seem that any device that connects to Internet and allows me to enter the IP address would operate it. But I need to get into it. It may be that I keep the Duet and use the controller. anglecard48's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71714 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114796 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Looking for advice on Rasperry Pi piCore Player set up
I agree, use the DUET CONTROLLER, just choose the new player as the player on the controller. Or take an old smartphone connected to your network via WIFI and use a smartphone app controller. This could be as simple as using "material skin" on the smart phone, or using a phone specific app (for example, for my iphones, I use iPeng app). *Home:* Pi4B-8GB/pCP8.x/4TB>LMS 8.1.x>Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio (all ethernet) *Cottage:* rPi4B-4GB/pCP7.x/4TB>LMS 8.1.x>Touch>Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (Radio WIFI) *Office:* Win10(64)>foobar2000 *The Wild: *rPi3B+/pCP7.x/4TB>LMS 8.1.x>hifiberry Dac+Pro (LMS & Squeezelite) *Controllers:* iPhone11 & iPadAir3 (iPeng), CONTROLLER, Material Skin, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win10(64) *Files:* -Ripping-: dBpoweramp > FLAC; -Post-rip-: mp3tag, PerfectTunes, TuneFusion; -Streaming:- Spotify garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114796 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Just wanted to say thanks. It all works perfectly
I second this - I use Squeezelite-X on a daily basis in my home office coupled with Material. It is an excellent way to access LMS. rgdawson wrote: > If you are running on Windows, you might try Squeezelite-X, which gives > you a nice (if I don't say so myself) Windows10 client/player. > Available for free from Microsoft Store. What remote? If its the Topping remote, then it's only for the Topping E30, I found after the initial setup I have not used it. I use a Duet Controller. I found there was nothing to configure or setup though. I only had to apply power to the docking station! Today, you probably booted the Pi with the DAC attached, it would then appear in the list of available outputs. Re: [slim] Looking for advice on Rasperry Pi piCore Player set up
SUCCESS!!! ALL IS RIGHT WITH THE WORLD. The thing works now. Music is streaming out of the RaspberryPi / PiCorePlayer to my Topping D30 and out to my preamp / amp / speakers. Sounds sweet. I wish I know why today and not yesterday. See attached. The RP sees the D30 DAC. I am happy. Still confused but happy. Next is to configure a remote. I believe I will open a new thread on the topic of a remote. I have looked at some conversations on this forum and see that on the piCorePlayer website ( https://www.picoreplayer.org/landingzone_features.html ) "Feature 7" shows a remote. The links are over my head. On a previous post a member mentioned a smart phone and Material skin. I have a couple of smart phones collecting dust. I don't know why I'd want to keep the Duet Controller. The Duet system does still have some value on eBay ($50 - $100). It might be of use to someone. You people are great. I very much appreciate your help and knowledge. +---+ |Filename: Screen Shot 2021-07-12 at 4.29.35 PM.png | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=35215| +---+ anglecard48's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71714 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114796 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

If you are running on Windows, you might try Squeezelite-X, which gives you a nice (if I don't say so myself) Windows10 client/player. Available for free from Microsoft Store. Works with Material Skin as well.
