Installed DSbridge on Windows 7 32bit and it worked at first try, very easy. My LMS is 7.7.2 running on Arm-based readynas. On LMS I can see artist and track title but not track duration (track it's just an infinite stream, as playing a web radio) and not cover art. Since dsbridge has not be updated since 2009 I suspect it's no more able to get cover art from last spotify version. Is there anyone here that can see cover art? I found a wonderful workaround for my purposes: if I rename subfolders

the play mode is activated. I think I will do that for all my cover
artwork subfolders.
I also noticed that play mode is not activated if a .CUE file is
present in the directory. Is this a wanted behaviour, maybe to avoid
playing the songs twice? Is it possible for squeezecommander to use
just CUE files as playlist, if present? I see that it's the behaviour
if I play the songs by long tapping the parent folder and then tapping
play in the contextual menu. It would be great if such a feature is
available also in play mode.

But in my opinion they made a wrong choice to put it in a rounded-cornered box: it's iphone style not android style but I understand that they did it because of consistency between they app on various smartphones platforms (and iphone wins, as usual). I can suggest you to start something very simple as the iconic representation of the SB player, as you are doing already in your app (https://g0.gstatic.com/android/market/de.cedata.android.squeezecommander/ss-480-3-5), I like the one of my SB classic with the dot in the lower part.
