Re: [slim] OT: Bluesound as a Slimdevice replacement?
At this point the real issue with Bluesound is virtually no streaming services. No Pandora, MOG, Spotify, etc. All there is is TuneIN and Radioio. Until they get the major players, it will not make it on the list to replace my Squeezebox. And if you are happy with how SB works, the VOCO stuff may be more similar to what we have now. olc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14942 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98065 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Clear MOG playlists on Squeezebox.
I just got MOG and a Squeezebox Radio, to add to my Duet I've had for years. If I set up a MOG playlist on line, or get one and the result of a search on MOG, there is no way to clear it from The Radio or Duet Controller. If I scroll to the bottom of the playlist and select Clear Playlist I get the following error Error reading headers: Bad response status line: '404 Not Found' at/opt/ss/CPAN/Net/HTTP/Methods.pm line 311. ...propagated at/opt/dd/CPAN/Net/HTTP/NB.pm line 32. This is a problem because MOG thinks the streaming is still happening even if I turn off the Squeezebox device, so I cannot use MOG on the other one. Is there a fix for thsi? MOG says Logitech wrote the app so it's their problem. Logitech says MOG wrote it so MOG should fix it. Re: [slim] No competition for Sonos! :-(
Nikhil wrote: I have been using both products for over 7 years now, and neither is inferior - they are just two very different things. I find myself using the SqueezeBoxen far more often than Sonos, but for most people Sonos is easier to deal with, and simply just works out of the box. Sure there are library size limitations, inability to stream higher res files, and no ability to tweak as with Music IP integration, room correction, etc, but that probably makes it more robust and indeed for most playback scenarios it works superbly. I have also tried both, and the Logitech UIs on the Android app is far better on most music services. Simple example using TuneIn - on Squeezebox you are shown station names and theri city of location. On Sonos, you just get the name or call letters. Not nearly as useful in choosing a station. The search function for the music library in Sonos is nowhere near as useful as Squeezebox, which lets you search artist, song, title, or playlist, where on Sonos it's just a generic search. Not very limiting in results when you have 50,000 tracks. All in all I'm sticking with Squeezebox until the bitter end. I could live with Sonos, but I don't want to unless I have to. olc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14942 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97440 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Duet set up failure
I got the Duet yesterday morning, set it up in minutes and used it all day and today in the morning. Went to use it tonight and nothing. The SBC seems OK so I checked the receiver. I disconnected it from power and plugged it in again. The Lite on the front was red and white. No joy Next went to Set Up Receiver on the SBC and held down the button on front of the SBR until it flashed fast. It found the SBR and it's MAC so I choose that to set up. It then finds the network name and I go to the next step of choosing the music source. It times out and gives me the option of trying again or quitting the set. At this point the light on the SBR is back to red and white. I have repeated this process ad nauseum and no change. It worked fine until now and nothing else on my system has changed. Everything works fine with Squeeze Center and SoftSqueeze. I'm stumped. Has the receiver gone bad? The system can find the SBR and the network, by name, so signal strength shouldn't be the issue. Prior to this I had an SB3 working fine for a long time. Update: I moved the SBR to the same room as and about 4 feet from the computer system and the wireless router. Re: [slim] Duet set up failure
MickeyG;277005 Wrote: If your SBR has a white LED, then it can see SqueezeCenter just fine. So it's not an issue with SBR at all. It's an issue with SBC. Here are some things to try: 1. Do you have the right firmware on it? Go to Settings-Advanced-About, and the version should be 7.0 r2090. If not, that would cause your problem. Go to Settings-Advanced-Software Update and choose Network update. 2. If it's the right version of firmware, then the solution might be to perform the Set Up Receiver process again. When the try again or quit (or something like that) screen appears, just power cycle the SBC. You can do this by holding down the Home key to turn it off, waiting a few seconds, and then hold the Home key down again to turn it on. When the SBC comes up again, it should see the SBR just fine. This should not happen with r2090, but if it does it's a bug. Mickey There seems to be issues with both the SBC an SBR. I picked up the SBC from the charger and tried to turn on the SBR, which I then noticed had no light on at all and the SBC siad it could not find the computer with my music. I powered the SBC off and on (the firmware is OK) and that fixed the SBC. I tried to turn on the SBR from the SBC with no luck. I disconneceted the SBR from AC power and reconnected it, then I could turn it on. It all works. As an experiment, I turned off the SBR with the SBC , then tried to use the system. Same issues presented and same fix worked but it seems like it shouldn't be this much trouble. -- olc olc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14942 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44385 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
