However, I'm having some trouble when listening to a radio station, the controls from the status screen get slow or non-responsive. There is a constant ajax request that jams the webserver. You can see this by opening the activity window of a safari browser. This whole situation does not occur when listening to a local audio file, just when listening streamed internet radio stations. Any ideas what's going wrong ? Thing only thing I can find in the forum is a reference to anti virus s/w on the server blocking images but disabling this on mine makes no difference. [slim] Nokia 770 skin
Recently, in the last few days, my Nokia 770 has 'no body' in the 'now playing' and doesn't respond in the playlist '+' push. Anyone have any idea what's going on? Nothing's changed as far as I know on the server/PC side (win XP Pro Sp2, with AVG 7.5 and ZoneAlarm - slimserver 6.5.3). Substituted the 770 skin with the touch skin - same behaviour. The dark bar at the top behaves as it should, but the main body is unresponsive. Just checked - renders OK, and behaves correctly in Mozilla FireFox on the host PC. So my Nokia is pooched? Clues please! off the top of my head, the only thing I can recommend would be to make sure that javascript is enabled on the 770's browser. Nothing that you've done with your 770 (e.g., software updates, etc.) is a clue to this behavior? What about other websites via the 770 browser? I have a 770 now, which helps me a lot, but no clue what's causing the issue. What I think is the only real way to get at the root problem is to back off to a version of SqueezeCenter/SlimServer that worked on the 770, and then iterate back and forth until a close-as-possible determination can be made as to what revision the version. If anyone in the community can assist with that effort I'd be most grateful. I'd suggest going to the last released version of Slimserver 6.5.x first. Verify whether it works/doesn't based on whether you can submit a search from the skin on a 770. If it works, the next step would be to get a middle-of-development-cycle version of SC 7.0, as released 7.0 is known to be broken. I can help with that part if any kind soul gets that far. Sorry about this, but it's a really weird bug. A simple example of the main issue I see throughout is to go the search screen: I can type in the name of a song and neither hitting enter on the on-screen keyboard or tapping search works. Same issue w/ clear The issue of buttons being non-functional is prevalent on a number of different screens from settings to Pandora to XM Radio to Internet radio (enter stream URL). Feel free to open a bug if you like. Pre 7.0, hitting Browse Stations for example would toss-back a list of all XM stations with the currently playing track on each station. Post 7.0, the station list is null. Unfortunately, it is broke just the same using the Touch skin on my PC. Works fine from the default SC7 screen, tho. I can confirm search / clear buttons on search page not working, also 2. 'Save settings' buttons on both SqueezeCenter and Player settings pages not working. 3. Lastly, the player 'power' button works (controls on/off state for players), but the graphic for the button shows it 'glowing' for both on or off states - I assume this should change like the equivalent button on the SC7 default skin. This last observation is true when I open the skin in Firefox on my PC, whereas the buttons in points 1, 2 above do work on the PC. Tim Just to be clear, I still have an N800, so supporting that platform is not a current issue. I've now ordered a 770 to be able to help support the legacy platform, which now has many more issues with the nokia770 skin than the N800, principally because of the version of Opera and a problem with javascript (at least that's my theory right now). There are some bugs that I found, but aside from one minor issue nothing that seems specific to the 770 platform. notes: my 770 came with OS 3.2006-49-2, which by all accounts was the last official OS release for this platform. Before you report issues on the 770, please make sure you are running this version (Tools-Control Panel-Device-About Product). For my SqueezeCenter, I am running a current svn checkout of 7.0.1/trunk, which should not differ in any meaningful fashion from the release 7.0 1. selecting different players from the pull-down menu WORKS 2. the sort by pull-down under Albums does not work when in list mode, but does work when in gallery mode (toggle between these two modes with the small icon to the left of the home icon on the top menu bar). this is not a 770-specific issue http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=7472 3. play and add buttons in list mode were reported as not working on the 770, but they work fine for me. 4. layout of internet radio stream details page is a mess. There were distros of the 770 OS that had it disabled by default. try downloading minimo, the browser for the 770 based on mozilla rather than opera. That's what the N800 uses, and it does not have this problem. From home, select Albums (I know, slighly non-intuitive since you want Artists) If you aren't seeing album artwork, on the left side of the menu bar at the top you will see a little icon. This toggles between list view and artwork view. There is a select menu on the right hand side for sorting. Change this to Artist, Album, which sorts as advertised. Then you point your Nokia's web browser to http://your.pc.ip.address:9000/Nokia770/. -- Replace your.pc.ip.address with your PCs IP address. To be clear-- you do NOT run Slimserver/SqueezeCenter on a Nokia tablet. You use a web browser to access the SqueezeCenter running on a PC. 2. Nokia OS2008 has a really nice native Rhapsody client if you are talking about playing music directly out of the Nokia. If you want to play Rhapsody out your Squeezebox using the Nokia+Nokia770 skin, this also works with SqueezeCenter 7.0. I should note that Rhapsody was not the same place in the Squeezebox menu after the recent firmware upgrade, so maybe it may have changed under the Nokia skin as well? I just received a Nokia N800 two days ago. First thing I did was an upgrade to OS2008. I was eager to use it with the SB3, particularly Rhapsody (thinking I could do something like the Sonos remote). I read that you have to type in your IP address followed by Nokia770 to get your Nokia device synced with the SB3, but I had no such luck. I then realized that I had just upgraded the Slimserver firmware to version 7. Couple that with Nokia's OS2008 I wonder if I did too much upgrading for my own good. Primarily I wanted to improve the waf (wife accept). Problem is that using the /touch skin for N800, the stylus still need to be used, not all the time, but at some functions it will be needed. It would have been excellent if there could be a skin which I could use only a thumb to touch on the screen, otherwise if the stylus is required I would say the 4 screen is to small to use. hi Chris-- AFAIK, there will be no further updates to the 770 OS, as Nokia has moved on to supporting the N800 and now the N810. You should get the most recent OS2007 image, and then you're done looking for updates! I was wondering if anyone knows how to add song scanning (ie moving to a different part of the current song playing) via the nokia 770 skin. Or any browser interface, for that matter. I have seen it done via the song scanner plugin with the remote, but I don't use the remote for any of my transporter/squeezebox's. Look for it in the extreme lower right of any page. Note: when you press this button, the behavior right now is that it will take you to the now playing page. The only two issues are: Sort order select works in artwork, but not list view. The progress bar doesn't go all the way across the screen in now playing. It seems to think that 100% is roughly in line with the mute button. Hope this is useful. It has the side benefit that the onchange controls that were broken in V7.0 of Slimserver are now fixed. So things might not be as bad as they first appeared. In my case, it should return Opera, and if for some reason that doesn't
