I can render each variable to a table but I want to concatenate crudely as follows: Squeezejs.ui.Tracknumber & "." & squeezejs.ui.Trackname Squeezejs.ui.Album Squeezejs.ui.Albumartist You wouldn't concatenate those items in code, but define different elements in your HTML to represent the items. Eg. every item expects an element ID where to render the data. I use the web interface via browser on a linux rig running on a 49" 4k TV. Is there anyway to have the album art full screen for the now playing track? I can do this by manually by clicking the album art thumbnail and opening in a new tab. Whilst running the browser in kiosk / full screen mode. I hope there's a setting or plug in for this? Almost like a screen saver. Help please. Thanks for the suggestions. I added the artwork for the albums in question directly to the files by selecting all the tracks for the album, using Get Info, and then pasting the album art in to the cover art field. Each time I do this iTunes gives me the processing file message so it appears to be working. What is odd is that some album art done this way IS transferring to the Touch, but other album art is not. There's an option you can enable that tries to pull art from iTunes' proprietary database into SBS. It's very slow and sometimes doesn't work. Hi: I just converted a bunch of music into flac format using dbpoweramp and loaded it into my music library. I rescanned the library and everything came across fine, but some of the albums have artwork and others don't. My question is once it is in the library is there a way to get album artwork like in itunes? In most it should be both, that is, part of the FLAC tags AND in a .jpg within the album folder. In some cases though it's just embedded in the tags. 2. FLAC. 3. Not every album, but as best I could tell, anything that had art, showed art on the Squeezebox. Yep, you need to clear the cache, then do a clear and rescasn of your library (yet again) before moving forward to see what's not working. As Phil notes, in your system tray, right click the SbS icon, select squeezebox control panel, click on the advance tab, then check the box next to clean cache folder including music database then select run cleanup. [slim] Album art and multiple albums are going to drive me insane
I recently moved my entire music library from one location to another, mainly because it had gotten quite large (around 60,000 tracks), and I wanted it in one place, on a new, larger external drive. So everything is now on that drive. I changed the location of the library, and cleared and rescanned, but now something like 90% of the albums have lost their album art, and many exist in duplicate (one with art, and one without). This is quite annoying. Everything was pretty groovy before, and I know the folders and tracks, even in the new location, still actually have all the art, as I can see it on Media Monkey, which is my primary library manager. Any thoughts on how to resolve this issue? Is there a specific command to locate album art? [slim] Album Art Screensaver - now playing?
Hi everyone - A little while back I installed the screensaver that was announced a few years back by cr-mattias here - http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35267 It works great, but There was originally integration with slimserver to feature 'now playing' details, but that doesn't seem to work on my setup. I get the screen display of changing album art (which is great), but nothing about what is currently playing. I guess this may be because the author hasn't been able to keep the screensaver up to date. The screensaver is available from here http://www.crayonroom.com/screensaver.php, with a forum also available from that page. But posts are moderated before display, and the moderator doesn't seem to be at home :-( Has anyone been able to use the 'now playing' feature on current squeezebox server and windows PCs? If so, do you have any tips that I could try? [slim] Album art file name
In all my album folders i have the cover art named *Front.jpg*. I know that Squeezecenter will look for other file names. Now i'm trying to add the front.jpg file name to the squeezecenter under the tab advanced - formatting - artwork. When entered here *front.jpg* or *%Filefront.jpg* it won't work, squeezecenter will not find the art. Renaming or copying all the front.jpg files will be the last do to because my other player needs the front.jpg files. Somebody an idea.. Have you tried Front.jpg ? I have moved SqueezCenter from a PC to a portable both under Vista. Everything went fine on the ordinary PC and on the portable except on the latter album art does not show up on the Album page. Changing size specifications under SqueezeCenter did not fix the problem. I am using for some years now 4 Squeezeboxes and 1 Duet on a LAN under netgear ethernet/wifi. I have added my new portable to the netgear lan configuration. Anything else I can do? ARTWORK Images of album artwork, when available, are displayed when viewing an album or song information. Artwork images are found in the ID3 tags for individual songs or can reside in the same folder as song files. By default, images named cover.jpg, folder.jpg, album.jpg, or thumb.jpg are used. You can specify an additional file name to use for album art images. You can specify different file names for thumbnail or full size images. Prefix the option with % and you can follow it with any string made up of the same elements available for Title Formats (eg %ARTIST - ALBUM, will look for Artist - Album.jpg to fit the artist and album information found. Is there an implied priority here? In the sense that if cover.jpg exists, then even if folder.jpg exists, folder.jpg will be ignored? If that's not the way it works, will listing these filenames in the Artwork field cause priority to work that way? The Album Art Downloader mentioned above is indeed very good - it kind of hides its functionality though. At first it looks like you have to do it one by one, but if you look in the menu it has a file browser section. You point this at your music folder and it scans everything you have in one go and shows which albums are missing artworkand then can send of mass searches for them. It does everything AAA does, and better, and is being actively developed, so I've switched. I found tonnes more with it than with AAA, some of the awkwardly named things it had no trouble with at all. In SC 7.2 (obtained and installed via .deb stable release) the artwork fails to display for some albums, but not all. In some directories, I've recently seen various complaints about such misbehaviour, but haven't been able to reproduce. Could you please check spelling on names? I've resolved the problem with SqueezeCenter displaying some, but not all album art. Currently it displays all available album art using the %ALBUM - ARTIST.jpg format. In SC 7.2 (obtained and installed via .deb stable release) the artwork fails to display for some albums, but not all. In some directories, some of the albums display perfectly, while others do not. Instead of album art, only the placeholder artwork is displayed. The artwork is stored in a directory with the mp3 files using the following structure: /foo/artist/album - artists.jpg Under Settings Advanced Formatting I have set Artwork: %ALBUM - ARTIST . This has worked on previous installations, but fails to work this time. I have tried all of the following combinations in the Artwork field: %ALBUM - ARTIST %ALBUM - ARTIST.jpg %ALBUM - %ARTIST %ALBUM - %ARTIST.jpg None of the above combinations appear to work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. None of the files are actually called 'album - artists.jpg'. Oddly, I've gotten the album artwork to display for *most* albums. I used %ALBUM - ARTIST.jpg Some of the albums refuse to display, however. The R.E.M. albums that I listed above are of particular annoyance right now. Any ideas why those, in particular, won't display? I don't know if it's the same on other OS'es, but there is something weird that happens when you have a directory with a trailing period. I have a small, but nagging problem. I am using a duet and have installed 7.2. I have cover art in my directory with my music. I scan the dir so the music is in the library (nuked and rescanned) But when i play the music the album art is presentand showing. In the list there is no album art What am i doing wrong? Anybody? --- Just restart the handset (after an software update) and your album art will show boomdijk, you need to say what operating system you are using, and also if you are using e.g. McAfee. McAfee messes up the scan of your music directory, so the best thing is to turn it off while you are doing a new scan. To do this, click on Settings on the bottom right hand corner of Squeezecentre and this wil open up a new window for you, from which you should choose Clear and rescan everything. You might give the iTunesUpdater plugin a try, which can help with this issue. It's strange cause all of my covers are treated by itunes and half od them do show up but the other half doesn't. I looked further about the size clue but it is not relevant. Some of the cover showing are bigger than 500x500. I really don't see any logic in this. I have just purchased a Duet, and I have to say that I've been very pleased with it. Setting up was pretty straightforward, apart from a minor hiccup which was resolved with help from these forums. I ripped my CD collection a couple of years ago, and this is the first time I've used anything other that a PC to play it. Anyway.. I have stored my album art, which is a mixture of sleeve scans and downloads, in the form of a folder.jpg file in each directory containing an album. This seems to work well for the Duet controller / SqueezeCenter, but about a quarter of them don't show. These are scattered rather than being at the end of the collection. The jpg files view OK on every other piece of software I've tried them with. Is there a limitation I should be aware of which I need to conform with to show up ? I don't know what the limitations exactly are, but coverart sized bigger than 500x500 pixel rarely showed up in the web interface or Squeezeplay for me. Resizing to a smaller size made them be displayed. Thanks for the reply. One of the files in question is 300x300 and is just over 20K in size. I have also tried re-encoding using an image editor, just to make sure it's not interleaved or is in some other way 'non-standard'. Could there be some filename case sensitivity ? Each time I copy the file back to the albums directory, I perform a re-scan with Look for new and changed munic selected. Should I be doing a full scan instead ? definitely make sure the files are called folder.jpg, not Folder.jpg. This has caused problems for people in the past. You'll find a list of filenames and types in the help section on squeezecentre. it details the filenames and types it looks for (and in what orer) within the directories your music is stored. I have a similar issue whereby the squeezebox remote (and the thumbnails in squeezecentre) display the wrong album art. For single tracks and even some albums without any album art - it's defaulting to the albumart for a righteous brothers cd!! I've searched my music collection for *.jpg *.jpeg *.gif but this artwork just isn't showing up (must be embedded). I've deleted the righteous brothers album from my music collecting (not sure what is was doing in there anyway) but it looks like the database is holding on it. Hi, I had exactly the same issue and even having tried rescans with AVG disabled nothing changed. However, I then upgraded to squeezecentre 7.0.1 did a rescan and all the art appeared. Had the same problem, along with some other scanning bugs, but it went away with the last rescan. My album art works properly in the Music Libraries-Albums way to view albums, but only AFTER I've viewed that specific album by clicking on it. It's like Squeezecenter isn't loading or caching the art until it was forced to one time. Any idea how I can get it to just go cache all the art? My art is sometimes in the mp3s, and sometimes folder.jpg in the folder. [slim] Album Art Confusion
My Squeezebox Controller is showing the image for Bruce Springsteen Greatest Hits for the sleeve of my ZZ Top Greatest Hits album. My music is managed by iTunes and so both albums are stored in completely different file paths, e.g. iTunes Music Bruce Springsteen Greatest Hits for one and iTunes Music ZZ Top Greatest Hits for the other. I've double checked and the folder.jpg file within the ZZ Top Greatest Hits folder is clearly the one for ZZ Top, also the album art has been embedded within all the music files and is present and correct. I use Tag Rename software for this. I thought that Duet was supposed to pull whatever folder.jpg file you have in the same folder with the music. I am finding that not to be the case. I had spent quite a bit of time pulling (or scanning) correct cover art for all my albums. Squeezecenter, however, is pulling art from online somewhere for some reason. I see there are at least 50 albums in my collection for which the art shown is not what I have in the folder. What's up? What setting do I need to change? [slim] Album Art only seen when paused or switched off
Hi I have noticed that from time to time I will encounter tracks where the album art is not shown when the track is played. Rather the music notes are shown on the controller. However, when I pause or switch off the player, a small window slides up and a mini album art image is shown. Does this have something to do with how I've tagged the files or is there something else I can do short of a rescan. As an example, I have seen this with my podcasts that I download weekly. Scanner.log on its way. After copying the log I deleted the Artwork folder from the cache, did another complete rescan, but still no art. That did the trick! I found the same error message in my log, I told McAffee to ignore MYI file extension, rescanned - there's the art! I noticed that it had not been getting past the merge artists scan mode, so it never actually even got to album art scan or database optimize mode. It only recognized the art in the now playing/playlist pane but not in the album display pane. Curious... Yes, complete rescan did not help. And yes, if I select an album, add it to the playlist then go back to album view, I now see the art for that album (only) - strange...
