Re: [dspace-tech] How do we put ORCID on DSpace web interface

2017-05-08 Thread Bollini Andrea
Hi Lewatle,

you could be also interested in the implementation done in DSpace-CRIS

https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACECRIS/ORCID+Integration

It allows wider use cases including push & pull information than the one
supported by a typical DSpace

Please note that we are working on a new implementation of the ORCID
integration based on the new ORCID v2 API and extended to support import
of publications from ORCID in DSpace(-CRIS).

Best,

Andrea

[dspace-tech] Fwd: Statistics display in DSpace 5.5

Hi,
I am using DSpace 5.5 XMLUI (modified Mirage 2 theme). For the past few
years we have been harvesting statistical information from DSpace with a
local developed solution. That program is no longer available to me, so I
was looking at what DSpace provides internally. I noticed that there is an
Admin option called "Statistics" which appears to have everything I need.
However, my display only covers January 2017. I can't figure out how to
update this page. Does anyone know what process is used to update the
statistics page?

Thanks, Mark. Long term that's a good idea.

Claudia, before I sent the message to the mailing list I had a quick go at
editing the requiredmetadata task to make it always return successfully,
but failed. I haven't read/written java in fifteen years so all the try
catch catch throw stuff is really nonsense to me. :)

Cheers,

[dspace-tech] password authentication - complexity

2017-05-08 Thread molly mcmanus

In Dspace 5.x with regular password authentication. Is there a way to:

1. force more complex passwords
2. disable the 'forgot password' (or change it so that it does not tell you
when an email address is valid)
3. enable a lockout when a user tries using an incorrect password X number
of times

Thanks, Molly

Re: [dspace-tech] OAI Harvester

2017-05-08 Thread Claudia Jürgen

Hello Layale,

I assume you are referring to OAI-PMH and not OAI-ORE.
The default (must be supported) metadata format is unqualified Dublin Core.
In this format all dates are exposed as dc.date.
Nonetheless DSpace supports a lot more formats with the verb
"ListMetadataFormats"
you get all available, e.g.:
http://demo.dspace.org/oai/request?verb=ListMetadataFormats
You may choose e.g. qdc (Qualified Dublin Core)like
http://demo.dspace.org/oai/request?verb=ListRecords&metadataPrefix=qdc

Hope this helps

How can my harvested output xml file contain dc elements and qualifiers?

Re: [dspace-tech] Curate requiredmetadata on entire collection?

2017-05-08 Thread Claudia Jürgen

Hello Alan,

you may create your own curation task using required metadata as a template.
There are further option, the db and oai:

a) query the db:

All Items missing a metadata field
SELECT item_id FROM item WHERE in_archive=true AND item_id NOT IN
(SELECT item_id FROM metadatavalue WHERE
metadata_field_id=[METADATAFIELDID]) ORDER BY item_id ;

All Items in a specific collection missing a metadata field
SELECT item_id FROM item WHERE in_archive=true AND
owning_collection=[COLLECTIONID] AND item_id NOT IN (SELECT item_id FROM
metadatavalue WHERE metadata_field_id=[METADATAFIELDID]) ORDER BY item_id ;

Just replace [METADATAFIELDID] and [COLLECITONIID] with the right values.

b) oai
Create an own context or just a set use the
DSpaceAtLeastOneMetadataFilter in combination with the notFilter.

Hope this helps

Hello,

I'm interested in using the `requiredmetadata` curation task to find items
missing required metadata in a community/collection:

$ [dspace]/bin/dspace curate -t requiredmetadata -i 10568/2 -r -

This works, but stops when it finds an item that is missing required
metadata. According to the documentation[0] this is by design, but I want
to know how to run this task more like a report, to find all items missing
required metadata so I can fix them in a batch script.

How are people solving this issue? We are running DSpace 5.5 with
PostgreSQL.

Re: [dspace-tech] Re: Indexing not working properly in DSpace 6 after upgrade from DSpace 5 to 6

2017-05-08 Thread Bhavesh Patel
While executing following query it's shows 5712 records,

select distinct dspace_object from resourcepolicy where eperson_id is not
null

we have some collections that don't have any policy but still some records
not index.

After Tom suggestion about "enable authority control for
dc.contributor.author into dspace.cfg file" it's don't show any error into
log file but count remain same (not indexing proper), what may be the issue
?

Bhavesh

 Dear Tom Desair,

We have followed the instruction as per your reply, index command was
successfully executed, but the count remain same.

we see into dspace.log file (dspace.log.2017-05-03), it's around 26 MB,
so I have taken some of the lines (that is having error while executing the
 command) into attached .txt file

 It's give error like: *"ERROR org.dspace.discovery.SolrServiceImpl @
No choices plugin was configured for field "dc_contributor_author".*
*java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: No choices plugin was configured
 for field "dc_contributor_author"."*

what may be the issue? it's not recognize the author field?

 Thanks
 Bhavesh

Re: [dspace-tech] modify multiple submissions for one collection at once

2017-05-08 Thread Claudia Jürgen

Hello Hoska,

you may use the Batch Metadata Editing Tool for this:
https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC6x/Batch+Metadata+Editing

It is possible to do the modification on db level, but you'll have to
rebuild your search and oai index afterwards.

Hope this helps

Helo every one;

We have dspace 6.0 runing under debian
We would like to modify the metadata "dc.language.iso" field for several
submissions (more than 800 submissions) from a collection.
We looked at the database but we could not find the field dc.language.iso.
Is it possible to modify this field by a sql request or we will be obliged
to modify these submissions one by one.
Any suggestion is appreciated.
Thank for help.
