Re: Re: [DX-CHAT] St. Helena Island ZD7

2006-05-22 Thread Jerry Keller
I think the problem does lie with the US Postal system and likely is South
Atlantic Ocean as the last line in the address. I spoke with someone at the
Washington DC postal HQ and was essentially told the last line in the
address shoulkd be the destination country, and 'South Atlantic Ocean' is
not a country. So I have decided to try VIA UK in hopes that the Royal
Mail has a better notion of how to get the mail delivered. 8^)

Hi fellas,

It's exactly like Dave G0IOL has written, the fault lies in the US Postal
service and it's getting much more frequent now and someone needs to put a
stop to it.
It's bad for business all round. My address is fine just like it is on
QRZ.com, but ther are several US Postal workers who don't know that other
people/Islands exist outside of the US.

Again as Dave said Royal Mail appear to on the mark, on a few occasions
I've received enevlopes torn open revealing their contents, Green Stamps
saying ' put me in your pocket', but no they been left there and sealed
then sealed again in another packet by Royal Mail - that's real service,
second to none.

I hope this helps folks.

Keep me posted.

A friend of mine from Zimbabwe visited a while back
and we went to the USPS to mail a package home. The idiot at the counter was
adamant that there was no such place as Zimbabwe and we nearly had to get a
supervisor before the package was accepted. That was a topic of conservation for
the rest of the visit.
