[Dx4win] Old logs

2005-01-30 Thread F6EXV
Hi all !
I have some old logs, saved either under a dbase format or an old CT
format (probably older than CT7)
The calls concerned are 9X5DX, 9Q5EXV, 4U9U and 4U/F6EXV.
I no longer have DBase and I do not know how to recuperate these logs to
import into DX4win.
CT no longer appears under the conversion formats, and my oldest version
of DX4win only has CT7 or newer.
Anyone could help ?

Thanks and 73
Paul F6EXV

Paul,

Go to www.k1ea.com and download c2a.zip under utility files and convert
your old CT logs to adif. You can then import adif to dx4win.

Paul, try the CT to ADIF conversion first from http://www.k1ea.com

If that does not work, contact me off-line.

[Dx4win] Spot priorities - my confusion

2005-01-30 Thread Stan Staten
Got no answers so let me pose a question. Today I see a CN on 20 meters
as priority 4 yet that country is confirmed on 20. I see others listed
as priority 4 for which I have no confirmation on the band shown in the
spot. How do I get DX4WIN to distinguish between these?

Thanks 73

I have been continually confused as to how to set the spotting to do
what I need. I am working toward 5 band DXCC, independent of mode.
Therefore, I have alert unfirmed country' checked in the packet1
preferences screen. Now the confusion, a country which I had confirmed
on 20 meters showed up in the spots on 15 meters, where I had worked
that country, but have no confirmation was shown as priority 5. I have
seen this many times in priority 4. This simply tells me that I do not
understand the logic on how spot priorities are assigned and that I do
not know how to interact with DX4WIN on this to get it to do what I
want. Reading the help file simply didn't help.

Hi Paul,

Excel can import DBase format data.
You could then export in .csv format or ASCII fixed column format and then
import directly into Dx4win.

[Dx4win] Old logs

2005-01-30 Thread Kurt W. Zimmerman
I found it easier to save the data out as a fixed record length instead of a
comma delimited file. This way the import feature for DX4WIN can easily
define the record, mapping each of the columns to the appropriate data
element.

Just my 2 cents worth.

  de IZ5FSA-6
I have no idea... Any suggest?

[Dx4win] Spot priorities - my confusion

Work first, worry later ! (just kidding)
I did not even know we had 5 levels of priorities !
If you click on the spot, and you have your country window open, you
will see if it is confirmed on the band/mode concerned, but as to set
the preferences up, I have no clue...

[Dx4win] Landscape Printing

2005-01-30 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hi,

I downloaded and installed version 6.04. It's quite nice and gives me
landscape printing again.

The only thing is...I can't get a solid black/border line on the right side
of a log printout on an 8 1/2 by 11 page. Do I need to eliminate a field or
decrease the size of a field.

How?
