[Dx4win] version 7.02 build 13

2006-05-16 Thread Paul van der Eijk
dx4w702.exe is back as build 13.

The import is fixed (strange we never saw that problem before)
Latest dx4win.awd file from Jim, AD1C, with additional prefixes fixed
Gitmo prefixes are adjusted for calls like kg44xx

I did not touch updating the band for incoming spots when a radio is not
connected. If this is needed, it should become an option and that was too
involved to do tonight.

Sorry about the hassle; hope that this version will last longer!

FW: [Dx4win] version 7.02 build 13

Subject: RE: [Dx4win] version 7.02 build 13

Hi Again,

Well you have me stumped this time. Yes the import works and the
program doesn't fall over.

BUT!

If I do an import into 7.01 my total Upl Cnf matches my total on the
LoTW web site, which is good.

But if I do the same thing into 7.02 it adds 345 new Upl Cnf which means
the total is now greater than the LoTW web site, which is bad.

Further more if I download a lotwreport.adi that contains QSO detail it
overwrites my QSO information, yes it adds the notes in the notes for
this qso but it has already overwritten the original information so it
is lost for ever. Which is the opposite to how I read it should work.

Am I missing something here?

[Dx4win] QSL print in Dx4Win 7.02.13

2006-05-16 Thread Alain, F 5 L I W
When I print some QSL cards, QSL method is always check and I must uncheck
it every time I print. It wasn't the case in previous versions and it was
better because if I forget to uncheck I waste a label.
But, I test many computer logbooks and, for me, Dx4Win is definitively THE
BEST.

2006-05-16 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
The UPFIOTA format is used for importing data into the IOTAMEM4WIN program:

Unfortunately, the format in DX4WIN 7.02 is not quite correct.

If you want to export your IOTA from DX4WIN into this program, please
contact me. I can put a conversion program on my web site, but would
like to walk a couple of people through it first.

It is just a prefix change from the original. I0MWI sent me a large
file that I have not uploaded yet.

If you point me at the 9K2HN data, I will put the full file on my web site.

If anyone else has custom awards, send me the .AWD file and I'll

It would be nice if the file name would include the build number, i.e.
dx4w702b13.exe. If one isn't a member of this list there is no way to
see that a new build with fixes has been released.

[Dx4win] DX4Win 7.02.13 - MMTTY/FSK - MicroHam Keyer?

2006-05-16 Thread Erkki Heikkinen
Is there anybody who could walk me through the settings? MMTTY works
fine on FSK as a stand-alone, but I am not able to find settings to key
the FSK or PTT through MK and DX4Win.

I am using COM7 for FSK. If I check the PTT box in the MK COM7 setting,
I get a steady PTT signal. However, no FSK output to the radio (756 P3).
In DX4Win MMTTY window/settings I get error COM7 already open.

In DX4Win the MMTTY control window minimizes if any other window is
activated. How can I keep it on the screen together with the MMTTY
window?

I also use Winkey - which works perfectly on CW but might be
complicating the FSK keying?

I know there is some bright brain out there who can put all these bits
and pieces in the correct order. Thanks a lot for any advice.

[Dx4win] DX4Win 7.02.13 - MMTTY/FSK - MicroHam Keyer?

2006-05-16 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
I'm not in front of the radio, but I do have a copy of DX4WIN here.

First, make sure that MMTTY works stand-alone with microKeyer.

In DX4WIN preferences - RTTY:

- Type should be None
- COM Port is your PTT port (might not be used)
- MMTTY Executable is full path to, and including, mmtty.exe

That should be all you need to do.

Window - MMTTY should bring up two windows: the RTTY input/output window, and
a small MMTTY window.

Message-ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Is there a way to be sequential when editing the logbook?
When I have the logbook open and I am going down the QSOs doing some editing, I
can either hit ENTER or F10 to record any changes I have made in the QSO
record. The logbook line jumps to a random QSO, could be the desired next QSO,
but almost always it skips up 6 or down 20 ETC...A waste of time to reposition
the log book at the next sequential QSO.
Am I doing something wrong?
I'm using V 7.01

You must exit DX4WIN before installing the update.

It looks correct here, make sure you have this .EXE file:

Assuming 702 is working the way you want, the easiest way to update 7.02 build
versions is as follows:

- rename dx4w702\SAVE to dx4w702\BACKUP
- install dx4w702.exe into the same directory as before
- delete dx4w702\SAVE
- rename dx4w702\BACKUP to dx4w702\SAVE

The procedure below assumes only DX4WIN.EXE has changed. In Build 14,
DX4WIN.AWD changed also, so you must copy that from the new SAVE directory to
the old BACKUP directory before deleting the new SAVE directory.

Sorry about that!

[Dx4win] Be very carefull 7.02 13 or 7.02 14

2006-05-16 Thread John Shaw
Just a heads up, and I am not trying to poor cold water on Paul's
efforts he has responded well when an error has been found, BUT.

Be very careful when running a lotwreport.Adi download into your log.
Make sure you have a safe backup so that if you don't like the results
you can go back.

I don't believe this function is working correctly yet. I have two
issues.

Firstly after running the download into 7.01 my Upl Cnfm's match what
the LoTW web site says exactly. Doing the exact same procedure into
7.02 v13 I end up with hundreds of extra Upl Cfm's which is total
rubbish.

Secondly if you try to import the QSO information into your log, it will
over write your existing information and put a note in the notes for
this QSO. Supposedly you should be able to do this without over writing
you existing information just get the entries in the notes for this QSO
field if the information is different.

Well perhaps I am doing something wrong with this one but it sure looks
like it works completely reverse to how the book tells it.

I am going back to 7.01 and I'm going to let everyone else be the guinea
pigs until the dust settles on this 7.02 fiasco.
