[Dx4win] Reflector options

2009-05-28 Thread f6gnz

I'd like to remain subscribed to the Reflector list to be able to read Archive
and send messages, but do not want my mailbox to be overloaded with so many
messages I am not directly interested in.
However, I'd like to receive messages in my mailbox which concern all answers
to my questions in a thread I created or in which i jumped-in by sending my
comments.

I do not find such a possibility in the Options list. Is it possible to
introduce such a feature? Many Internet Forums offer possibility to chose if
wishing or not to receive mailbox messages related to the message sent to the
Forum.

Radi F6GNZ

Hello Radi,

That's a function the Mailman software. The mailing list and software
are hosted on systems run by Scott ka9...@qth.com

If enough people are interested, maybe something will happen, but do
not expect miracles.

Re: [Dx4win] Reflector options

2009-05-28 Thread Dick Flanagan
The Mailman reflector system does not provide that
capability. Mailman manages an e-mail system dedicated to one
primary topic (in this case, DX4WIN), while the other Internet forums
you describe are designed to support multiple topics in more of an
on-line environment. Both have their own strengths and weaknesses.

While there might be thread-oriented e-mail clients out there, I am
not personally familiar with them. Mailman just doesn't go there. Sorry.

2009-05-28 Thread Mel
Make sure the shortcut Start in is set to the DX4Win root directory.

This will still get confused from time to time if you use the Common
Dialog control... but next time the program starts it should be OK again.

[Dx4win] computer help needed

2009-05-28 Thread Karl Oyster
Hi folks,

I realize this has nothing to do with DX4WIN, but it's driving me
nuts (short trip that it is) and I don't know of anywhere else
where there's the combined amount of computer smarts as there is
here.

Here's the situation:

I don't like to have icons up on the computer when I look at a
folder --- I'm a word guy, not a picture guy --- so I have tried,
any number of times, to reset all the folders to show details
instead. I followed directions I got somewhere but they don't
seem to work. If you can set me right on this, please contact me
off line.

Here's what I did:

open file
open TOOLS
open Folder Options
open View
open Folders View
click on Apply to all folders
click on yes to set all folders to the way this one is set
click on OK

And then the icons still come up when I open the folders.

Thanks, and my apologies again for using this reflector to ask the
question

Karl, K1KO

Radi, if you are using one of the more popular email programs you should be
able to set rules to handle this. I am not sure about Lotus, but Outlook
can do this on your client side.

Re: [Dx4win] Function-Key memories for MMTTY

2009-05-28 Thread Larry Gauthier (K8UT)
Karl,

N1MM has a menu-driven macro file selection feature, while DX4Win does not.
There is no slick way to accomplish what you are asking in DX4Win, but
there is an inelegant method:

Edit DX4WIN.INI - the MMTTY macro definitions are embedded in a section
called [MMTTYKEYS] in your /save/dx4win.ini file. Using Notepad, you could
create unlimited MMTTY macro definition files (like K1KO_DXing.xxx), saving
each with a separate meaningful name. Then copy/paste from those files into
the DX4WIN.INI file [MMTTYKEYS] section to switch your macros

Subject: [Dx4win] Function-Key memories for MMTTY

 Hi folks,

Anybody know of any way to prepare various sets of commands for
the F-keys in the MMTTY add-on to DX4WIN?? Sort of like the way
it's done in N1MM --- set the macros up the way you want them,
save to a file with title (like K1KO_DXing.xxx) and then be able
to select which file you want to operate with that day???

 Thanks and 73,

Re: [Dx4win] computer help needed

2009-05-28 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
You have to select List View. I don't see that in your description below.

I think it only applies to the current folder, and all subfolders. So
you would have to do this for C:\ then D:\ etc.
