Re: [Dx4win] Borrowing an idea from contest software
Wasn't actually my suggestion, though I jumped on board ;-) Not a particularly hi priority for me though... there are other improvements I'd like to see. Auto login to a cluster Not having to hit F3 to open the CDROM lookup every time I start the program. Support for other callbooks including QRZ subscription Nothing Earth shaking... pretty much like the program the way it is. Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN version 8.05
Hi All, I can't remember if I'm having a senior moment or if something has really changed. I am using a Yaesu FT-1KMp MKV and the program does not seem to read the split or QSX frequency when posting a spot. When clicking on a spot the radio splits fine if the spot was posted correctly. I've noticed this with 8.04 and now 8.05 and wonder if there is something I forgot to do with the upgrade. Also when logging the QSO there is no notification of using split. Hopefully someone can confirm my sanity check. [Dx4win] DXCC submission band/mode question
I am trying to set DX4WIN (8.04) to properly submit for DXCC. Under App notes I found the following: This step makes a list of confirmed QSOs that will add to your various DXCC Award totals. It's important to have your station and DXCC Award preferences set up correctly before you do this. The problem is I can't find a way to set things up so as to not submit every band/mode combination. For instance, I have JA Awarded on SSB (10M) and on 80M (CW). When I do a report for submitted I get an 80M SSB QSO showing up in the list. Since DXCC isn't band/mode specific (DXCC is band specific OR mode specific), the awards desk will indicate 80M and SSB have already been Awarded. There must be a setup I'm not setting correctly... 73 AD6ZJ, Loren __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Re: [Dx4win] DXCC submission band/mode question
Jim, I think the issue is that the Submitted flags which were erroneously set a few weeks ago have not been cleared. So I go to ReportsAward FlagsClear submitted and I do this for mixed then band then mode. So after doing all of this I do a ReportsListing and there are still multiple S flags showing up. So the Clear Submitted doesn't seem to be working. If I manually go through and un-check the submitted flag then all is good (for that QSO). 73 AD6ZJ, Loren --- On Mon, 1/31/11, Jim Reisert AD1C jjreis...@alum.mit.edu wrote: From: Jim Reisert AD1C jjreis...@alum.mit.edu Subject: Re: [Dx4win] DXCC submission band/mode question To: ad...@sbcglobal.net Cc: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Date: Monday, January 31, 2011, 9:56 AM On Mon, Jan 31, 2011 at 10:08 AM, Loren Hunt ad...@sbcglobal.net wrote: The problem is I can't find a way to set things up so as to not submit every band/mode combination. Re: [Dx4win] Membership list, LOTW
Jim, sorry I didnt explain it well. Will try here. I just use the LOTW , so I download the file from HB9BZA web page. Then I put it in the DX4WIN directory. Then I right-click on the Dx Spots window and click on Membership List. Then I CLEAR members list. Then I type a L in the Id window, and click on Add to Members list. Click on the lotw1.txt file in Dx4WIN and it comes up as 38841 Added, 860 Ignored. I have been doing this exactly the same way since the feature was added without any problems. I have 425 50 MHz grids confirmed with 7 cards outstanding. All the 425 are flagged in the VUCC reports with a C which means I got cards to confirm them. Then you can use the Award Flags option (v8) to change the Submitted status to Checked (*). Finally, manually clear the award flags for any unsubmitted QSLs (it sounds like you may not have any, but you are waiting for seven QSLs). Note that DX4WIN will pick the MOST RECENTLY confirmed QSO to submit, which may not match the QSO/QSL you submitted to ARRL. If you want to be precise, you'll have to set the award flags manually. Remember, you may have FN42 confirmed 12 times, DX4WIN has no idea which of these QSLs you submitted for credit, and there is no download path from ARRL into DX4WIN to set award flags for ANY award. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, jjreis...@alum.mit.edu, http://www.ad1c.us __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Re: [Dx4win] Another addition
That would be very useful to have built in. What I did (and it seems to work) was to choose a different COMM port for the CW. Now to use the CW or PSK I need to change COMM ports back but I don't need to exit the program after using MMTTY. This works as long as I close MMTTY before changing preferences. Now that I think of it... what a nuisance.
