[Dx4win] Change QSL Method Field
I want to do a Global Edit on the QSL Method field. On page 91 of the existing manual, that choice is shown. When I do the following from the QSO window: QSO: Multiple QSO Operations: a list appears but is does not contain the Change QSL Method option. DX4WIN 8.05. Is there another way to accomplish this? [Dx4win] Winkey
I am trying to setup WinKey with DX4Win. The winkey works fine on the same computer with another logging program. It uses Com Port 5. In DX4Win CW setup I have Device type set to Winkey, In software CW keying/ptt control I have NONE 0 NONE NONE, External keyer port = com 5. Save changes and exit. Exit DX4Win, Run DX4win again. Note says winkey not responding. Using another logger with Winkey selected (same computer, interfaces, etc.) and com5 all works fine. I am missing something? Thanks, Joe. (I did get the rotator to work OK, so there is some progress.) __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] Winkey
Thanks for all the help. All is working OK. I had made a dumb mistake when I forgot to disable all the I/O from the previous logger program. As you said You can't share ports. 73 de Joe. (I did get the rotator to work OK, so there is some progress.) Hi Joe, First, WinKey can only be used by one program at a time -- COM ports can not be shared. Is it connected to a USB port on your computer, with a virtual COM port created by the USB driver, or do you have a real serial COM port between the computer and the WinKey? Your setup looks and sounds correct. I can't see my exact setup at home, but it's working fine for me. I'll try to remember to check my settings when I get home. - Jim -- Jim Reisert AD1C, jjreis...@alum.mit.edu, http://www.ad1c.us/ __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

[Dx4win] Counties - More
Following the recent thread about County Hunting/Tracking and DX4WIN: MRC's (Mobile Reply Cards)...I have been transcribing QSO data from DX4WIN to MRC forms manually and tracking the MRC by assigning a number to it and recording that number in the RCVD field of DX4WIN. I have to admit that this is a rudimentary and laborious method to accomplish this task. Has anyone developed a better approach or any useful shortcuts to make this an easier task? Thanks and 73 de Joe, W6RLL.
[Dx4win] Radio Control IC-756 Pro II
Thanks to Jim, N7US, all is working fine now. Results: Radio adx 64h, 19200 baud, RTS high, 8/N/1 --- This is for Icom 756 Pro II users: My FT-1000MP is in for repairs. In the meantime I am setting up an IC-756 Pro II as a replacement. In Preferences, Radio 1, I have chosen 756 Pro from the Icom menu and accepted the defaults given. There is no communication between the computer port and the 756. I had no problem at all with the FT-1000MP. Anything obvious that I am missing. ( I have the PRO II working at the basic level...while reading the instruction manual). Thanks de Joe, W6RLL.

[Dx4win] Upgrade
Is there an upgrade to DX4WIN due out soon? I thought that I heard that it would be ready for Dayton. 73 de Joe, (W6RLL).
[Dx4win] V 6.02
I saw something on here to the effect that there were problems with the DX spotter in the DX cluster area. I have not paid close attention to the spots other than to note that it finds new ones for me and announces them. What am I overlooking? I am looking at other programs but I know it will be difficult to leave DX4WIN after having used it for so long. It really is a great program and very stable. Functionally it does just about everything I need and it is very easy (for me) to use. I have to admit that sometimes I get tired of the same window colors. Thanks for reading this. 73 de Joe, W6RLL
[Dx4win] Free Software for County Hunters
Hello, List members may be interested in the County Hunter program that I have developed for my own use. It is written for those (like me) who use DX4WIN for logging and WriteLog for contesting. The program finds any new counties that you have worked in a contest and outputs, via DX4WIN, QSL and address labels for those new counties that were found. The program is free and details may be seen at: www.w6rll.com Click on Interests and scroll down to the W6RLL section where you will find a description of the program. 73 de Joe, W6RLL

[Dx4win] Spots from DXTelnet
I seem to have lost the instructions for importing cluster spots from DXTelnet. I used to have it set up that way and it worked fine. (dx4w602) Thanks from Joe, W6RLL

[Dx4win] Awards
I notice that under the REPORTS, CUSTOM, LISTING, there are many awards that can be tracked. How do I enable tracking one or more of those awards? For example Zone 40 Award. I have 37 zone 40 contacts in my log but none appear on the zone 40 award report. Thanks and 73 de Joe, W6RLL
